Phoenix Code

A New Beginnings Prequel

by Kashel Char , Stefan Pride , Stefan Pride

Phoenix was becoming a pressure cooker nearing bursting open, as the sequestered group of savant scientists and soldiers in the glass-domed pods in Antarctica were buzzing with sexual tension.

Brad McCormick figured since the limbic system associated with sexual desire is linked to libido and the part of the brain responsible for higher-level functions, like planning and thinking, he had a problem he couldn’t solve without his leadership team. To put it more explicitly, the men were extremely sexually eager.

Unbeknownst to the threat of external forces, the new Phoenician code of conduct, their scientific discoveries of new technologies and DNA manipulations hold the key to human survival—a blueprint for a new world, where the old divisions and conflicts become nothing more than relics of the past.

This is a low-action, high-science-fiction fantasy story with bouts of silliness, steamy M/M romances, a wedding, and a "Quik-Fix Hall.”

Phoenix Code is a prequel to the New Beginnings M/M series by Kashel Char. It is a re-edit of the original published work titled Men of Phoenix, written by Stefan Pride. Stefan invited Kashel to co-author and update it with fresh thoughts, preparing it for an audiobook recording. It was re-titled Phoenix Code Copyright © 2022 by Kashel Char and Stefan Pride. Warning: This story has explicit and graphic depictions unsuitable for young and sensitive readers or anyone offended by gay sex.

I am a huge fan of the original book. So with the third book in the series coming out soon, I thought I better read this updated version of the Phoenix Code. Oh my gosh! This was even more incredible than the original. And the original blew me away. The meat of the story is still the same, but the new additions help enhance the overarching story line across the series. Some of the changes are subtle and some are huge like the addition of vampires and a time traveler. I can't wait to see how it all plays out in the next two books. People often wish they could go back and read a favorite book again for the first time and that's exactly what this felt like. I got to laugh, cry, gasp, and relive this story again for the first time. Once again Juan was a favorite character of mine. He and Drew got to shine a little bit more in this book (go read Just Like a Butterfly, a New Beginnings novella for their story). Whether you have read the original or this is brand new to you, you will fall in love with the men of Phoenix. The world building is incredible, there is a diverse cast of characters, and the plot sucks you in.

About the Authors

Kashel Char

I'm a Canadian speculative Male/Male Sci-Fi Fantasy and Paranormal Romance writer. My writing explores who we are, where we come from, and where we are going as a human race on Earth.
I love weaving complicated, mind-bending, yet spicy stories that are unpredictable, twisted with a dash of humor, centered on gay characters.
You will question your existence among these worlds and wish you could escape to these places filled with foul-mouthed heroes who struggle and strive to save humankind.
