A cinnamon roll Viking, a socially anxious sweetheart, and a decades-long secret crush.

Jules:

I’ve been in love with my brother’s best friend since I was twelve, and twenty years later, Erik Osouf is still so far out of my league, we aren’t even playing the same sport. Not that I play sports. That means talking to people, and my social anxiety makes that all but impossible.

It also makes my brother incredibly overprotective, and while I love that Stef always has my back, it’s why I still can’t tell Erik how I feel. It would wreck their friendship, and after everything Stef’s done for me, I won’t ever be the cause of that. I just wish my heart would get that memo.

Erik:

For years I thought of Jules Evans as the quiet, sweet kid who regularly crushed me at Mario Kart, and let fireflies loose in our camping tent. Then he accidentally admits he’s in love with me. He doesn’t remember saying anything, and I’d never embarrass him by mentioning it, but since then I can’t stop thinking about kissing him.

If it was anyone else, I’d probably have told them how I feel by now. But he’s my best friend’s younger brother. The same best friend who told me Jules is off-limits. That makes this all kinds of impossible. Unless I can convince them both I’m the right man for Jules.

Choose Me is a low-angst, brother’s best friend, contemporary MM romance about flawed but devoted families, taking chances, and sweet cinnamon roll Vikings. It contains no cheating, and a guaranteed HEA.

Erik:
Jules’ expression shifts from excited to worried faster than I can blink and he drops his gaze to the gravel under our feet. “You know, we don’t have to do this. You haven’t really seen Stef since you’ve been home. If you want —”
Shit. I’m fucking this up. “Jules.” He keeps his head down, not meeting my eyes. “Please look at me.”
He shakes his head. “No?”

Let me see those beautiful green eyes.”

His head shoots up, eyes wide and pinned right on mine. “Hazel.”
It’s almost whispered, so it takes a second to process the word. I cup his face and pretend to examine their color. “Ahh. Yes, I see that. Very pretty hazel.”
His lips quirk at the corner. “You said beautiful before and now I need to know which it is. Because pretty is nice, but it’s not beautiful.”
I throw my head back and laugh. It’s such a Stef thing to say and I’m not used to comments like that coming from Jules. “Please forgive me. I hadn’t realized there was a scale.”
He nods solemnly, somehow keeping a straight face. “There most definitely is. Stef taught it to me.” Ahh. There it is. I grin and watch him tick the points off on his fingers. “Nice, pretty, beautiful, gorgeous, stunning.”
“Oh, I see. Well, in that case, allow me to amend my statement. Please, Jules. Will you let me see your stunningly exquisite eyes?”
I mean to tease him, lighten things up a bit, but some of my feelings must leak into my voice. His cheeks pink, and his lips part as he gawps up at me. It’s obvious I’ve surprised him, but the feeling is mutual, because I’m just as shocked at my reaction. Wide-eyed and happy, Jules is stunning, and god help me, I can’t look away.

I love the best friends brother trope and this one was so amazing. I loved the characters and the storyline. I could not put this book down once I started.

Epic levels of pining achieved! These guys though…swoon. Erik and Jules are everything. I can certainly empathize with Jules. I don’t have his levels of anxiety but I am an introvert through and through and hate crowds of people. The author handles his anxiety well. And abelists are horrible people. Hard stop. The characters are so well written and relatable. I adored them instantly and was invested in their HEA. These two have been in love with each other for years but don’t do anything about it for multiple reasons. Now that Erik is back the only thing stopping them is fear of Stef’s reaction. I didn’t really think they had too much to worry about but…you never know. Oh my heart. This story was soooo gooood. I’m not surprised though, considering how good the others in this series are. Our MCs finally come together right when they need to and it couldn’t be more perfect. Stef needs his happy ending now!

“Every time I’m near you, my heart flutters in my chest. When you look at me with those stunning hazel eyes, butterflies swoop in my stomach and all I can think about is kissing you. When you touch me, my whole body tingles and I want more of your hands everywhere. I want to touch you and kiss you, and make you feel the way you make me feel.”

This is sweet low-angst friends-to-lovers romance, an amazingly well written story with tons of feelings. The depth of the characters is real, they are well defined and believable. I would love to read more about them. I absolutely recommend this book.

I was so happy to discover a new author to read. This was my first Beck Grey book, but definitely not my last. The characters were wonderful to read. They were so kind and understanding of each other’s needs. I absolutely adore friends to lovers stories. Jules and Erik grew up together. Erik was Jules’s brother’s friend and Jules had had a major crush on him. I liked that we got a glimpse of the the characters in their younger years, a setting the stage for them to come together later on.

I also appreciated the author’s descriptions of the amazing vistas of the Pacific Northwest. I’ve never been there, but it’s like I was there. I totally thought that I could be a guide just like the characters. It sounds so amazing! … If I didn’t really like the outdoors, or hiking or other other outdoor activities. But the way it sounded in the story was so romantic. I loved it!

The story was everything I wanted in a book. Sweet and wonderful characters, an amazing setting, and some wonderfully sweet and steamy moments.

This is the best one in the series so far. This story had my heart from page one. Jules and Erik both had their issues with outside forces but together they were amazing. The way they took care of each other before and after accepting their feelings was so sweet. I couldn't help but love this story.

Jules has been in love with his brother’s best friend since he was fourteen years old. And Erik has felt a pull toward Jules for almost as long. But Erik moved away after graduating from college and Jules has only seen him rarely since then. Now, Erik is back from Arizona to start on a new business venture. And he’s back in Jules’ orbit again.

Jules deals with crippling social anxiety and Erik has always been a safe place for Jules. As they begin to act on their intense attraction and deep love for each other, they must deal with Jules’ brother, who doesn’t approve of the relationship, Erik’s siblings, who heighten his own anxiety with their fighting, and Jules’ new boss, who is completely insensitive to Jules’ needs.

This book is written with such love in every word. From the sensitive and careful way that the author writes about social anxiety, to the way each character, from Jules and Erik, to Erik’s siblings, Jules brother Stef and their crew of friends, is crafted fully and completely, this book is an absolute gem. As someone who deals with anxiety every day, I so deeply appreciate how well it is handled in this story. Beck Grey has written a truly gorgeous story and I’m here for every word.
