The moment I saw a new installment in the Unexpected Love series, I knew it was a must-read for me. Jordan’s Breakthrough was one of the best stories I read last year, and Vince and Fletcher’s story is every bit as incredible.
Right from the start, we learn that Vince is struggling with taxing physical symptoms while waiting for an MS diagnosis. Watching him navigate such a heavy situation—dealing with his own doubts about whether he could ever be an equal partner to anyone—was so moving. I read his chapters with a constant lump in my throat. Then there’s Fletcher, who was such a wonderful character. He needed a different kind of support, something more emotional, because despite having loved ones around, he had felt lonely for years.
The way Fletcher was so attentive—knowing exactly when Vince felt overwhelmed and offering just a glass of water or a simple hand squeeze to say, 'I’m here if you need me'—absolutely melted my heart. It was everything. Even with Vince's fears, it was clear from the jump that they were made for each other. I honestly didn't want this story to end. It’s a beautiful, touching tale of love, support, and treasuring every single day together.
