Loved, loved, loved this amazing story and am so glad it’s just the beginning of a new series surrounding four totally awesome friends. Lucas is the unequivocal heart surrounding Snow (Dr. Frost and ex military), Rowe (ex Army Ranger), and Ian ( a young Chef). All four men play prominent roles and their history is instrumental in creating believable characterization that kept me totally engrossed. I was unsure what to expect because these are new authors for me, but I can tell you now that I am thoroughly impressed and cannot wait for the sequel, Shattered, to be released.

Lucas, though a former special forces guy, is a self-made millionaire who has been rolled and had threats made on his life. Though he is not happy with the idea of a bodyguard, he caves to the demands of his friends and allows Andrei to protect him. What he didn’t expect was the fierce attraction he has for the Romanian. Andrei himself is struggling even more because he only dates women. He may come across as straight, but he is an open-minded guy who has given in to the sexual attraction he has for some men. He doesn’t kiss them but he has gotten his release from a few men…haven’t most men? Maybe, maybe not, but Lucas makes Andrei want things he never thought he would ever consider.

Lucas and Andrei are both bisexual, though that is still not a completely accurate description. The details of both men are so completely fleshed out that you almost see Andrei as “gay for you” and Lucas as solidly gay but bisexual for business purposes. You have to read it to get it, but it works.

The sexual tension is so thick in this book you can cut it with a knife. It is not until halfway through that you realize they still haven’t completely consummated because they do so much more that it is not missed. Watching these two dance around and tease each other kept me on the razors edge. They take slow burn to the extreme. They also have something special even though it takes them forever to admit it. There is not any insta-love…as a matter of fact, the love word wasn’t even used. I have no doubt we will see more of these in the coming books because all the friends are completely immersed in the entire story. I was completely satisfied with the happy-for-now because it means we will be getting more.

Looking forward to seeing how Snow fares in the next book. He is one highly-strung man, and I have no doubts he will blow my Nook up with his high intensity sex-ploitations. I am also looking forward to seeing how Ian and Hollis progress while Snow, Lucas, and Rowe bend over backwards to stop them. These guys may only be friends on paper, but they are family to each other and would kill or die for the other, if needed. That kind of love and loyalty makes for a great story, is paramount to the threat against Lucas, and leaves me so that I can’t wait to read more.

4.5 Stars

Shiver is the amazing story of the unbreakable bond between four men, the unexpected mind-blowing, hot and sizziling connection of the protagonist with his body guard and the suspense and action they all become embroiled in.

Lucas (the protagonist) is the ultimate alpha male. He likes control and infact needs it in all aspects of his life. He does not like being dependent on anyone else and does not like to take help. He does not believe in commitment and is happy to live his life the way it is. So the unexpected connection with his bodyguard Andrei makes him feel a little less in control.

Andrei is also shaken by the connection to Lucas. He had considered himself to be straight and to feel the kind of sizziling hot chemistry with Lucas shook him to the core. Both men are strong male characters and to see them both fight and finally succumb to their chemistry was nothing short of fascinating to read.

Their sexual chemistry was really palpable and I found myself catching my breath at many instances. The way the authors have explored their chemistry is 100% panty melting. It was really intense and hot. The book focuses on their chemistry more than developing their romance. But considering their characters and the kind of men they are it truly made sense.

The first thing which strikes us about the book is the bond Lucas has with his friends Snow, Ian and Rowe. Their bond and the depth of love and affection they all have for each other is portrayed in a beautiful manner. It was heart warming to read about the love and affection between the brothers. The book is high on the action and suspense element and it truly made the book a compelling page turner. The action and suspense were very well woven with the story. The book focuses more on the action, suspense and bond between the men rather than the romance between the characters. But the story was too enthralling to ever let that hinder my enjoyment of the book.

I truly loved this book and had an amazing and entertaining time reading the story. Read this book if you like an action-packed, suspense-filled m/m story with a bunch of hot and sexy men..!!

Rinda Elliott

I love unusual stories and credit growing up in a family of curious life-lovers who moved all over the country. Books and movies full of fantasy, science fiction and romance kept me amused, especially in some of the stranger places. For years, I tried to separate my darker side with my humorous and romantic one. I published short fiction, but things really started happening when I gave in and mixed it up. When not lost in fiction, I love making wine, collecting music, gaming and spending time with my husband and two children. I write in many genres, always with a love story in the mix. Those love stories can be M/F, M/M, or M/M/F. I tend to read more M/M than anything else and am mostly writing that these days. I also co-author MM romantic suspense with Jocelynn Drake.
