About The Book
Christmas is Kyle Slidell’s favorite holiday, and since it’s his first with his mate Tobias Rogan, Kyle wants to make it special. But Tobias wants nothing to do with the holiday. When Tobias leaves “for the night” and doesn’t return, Kyle tracks him down on Christmas Eve. Can he change his mate’s mind and have the special holiday he desires?
The Review
‘Tofurkey and Yams’ is a short Christmas interlude that takes place after the events of ‘Veggie Burgers to Go’ (book two of this series). It shows how Kyle, who loves Christmas, and Tobias, who hates it, attempt to reconcile their differences around the holidays.
Kyle wants to make their first Christmas together special for his mate, but he encounters some real obstacles. Tobias even leaves and when he hasn’t returned two days later, Kyle goes into full “I will solve this problem, whatever it is” mode. Few people are as determined as Kyle when he wants to make something happen.
Tobias has some very bad memories to deal with around Christmas, and not having seen his family basically since he was turned when he was fifteen years old is a big part of it. His solution is to run and withdraw, something Kyle has done before as well.
When will these men learn that it is easier to solve issues together? I guess this story shows one further step in their process to actually learning to live with the fact that they are mates. They are definitely stronger when they are together and I loved how this episode in their life shows exactly that! No pack politics required, just two stubborn men trying to deal with their past and their emotions.
A Christmassy story with lots of snow. Kyle and Tobias figure out that they REALLY belong together, and take the next step.
