About The Book
Tragedy struck one night, leaving Nathan with a permanent limp and a curse—the ability to see and communicate with ghosts.
For six years, Nathan’s done everything he can to avoid them. But a persistent ghost, Alan, haunts Nathan every chance he gets until Nathan reluctantly agrees to reunite him with his fiancé for a chance to find peace.
A turn of fate and a stolen CD brings Erik into Nathan’s life. Erik is everything Nathan believes he doesn’t deserve. But Erik is Alan’s lost love. Now he must untangle the threads of Alan’s death while hoping to keep the newfound love of his life.
Will Nathan decide to expose his supernatural burden, or let Alan wander without rest forever? Love and trust hang in the balance as Nathan confronts the ghosts of his past and the man who threatens to shatter the wall guarding his heart.
Paralyzed is a stand alone gay romance with two best friends who support each other through thick and thin, a snarky spirit who won’t take no for an answer, and a dark-haired gentle hearted man who is just as stubborn as the main character.

The Review
An exciting read.
Nathan, resuscitated after the accident that killed his parents, returned to life able to see and talk to ghosts. Enter Alan, who can’t remember what he desperately needs to tell Erik, his fiancé. And Erik, who comes to the music shop Nathan manages, and while ordering a CD, captures Nathan’s interest.
The story has twists, turns, friends, and unknown enemies. Throughout the novel, the reader is never sure what Alan will remember, whether Nathan will tell Erik about Alan, whether Nathan and Erik will manage a relationship, and whether Erik or Nathan might be in danger.
At first, Nathan resented his ability, but perhaps in the end it will bring him his heart’s desire.
The writing is assured, and we get just enough information at each stage to keep us on edge. There is a happy ending, but the journey towards it is at times dark, and dangerous. if you love paranormal crime drama, you will enjoy Paralyzed.
5 stars.

I’ve been doing book reviews on my website, crossposted or linked to various social media, for a few years. I read a number of genres but I really enjoy all kinds of speculative fiction so thought I’d like to share my views with you. I love sci fi and other speculative fiction because of the way it can, at its best, make us see ourselves in a new light. Quite apart from the exciting stories, of course! I used to be an English teacher, and I’m a writer (fantasy) so I can be quite critical about style etc. but I hope I can also appreciate properly some books that don’t appeal to me personally but might be simply perfect for others. I have, obviously, read widely, and continue to do so.
