A NOTE FROM THE AUTHOR
Dear Reader,
Looking back at my childhood, two shows stand out as pivotal in capturing my imagination: The original Scooby-Doo, Where Are You! And Kolchak: The Night Stalker.
I did read some of The Hardy Boys books while growing up, but really enjoyed watching the Scooby-Doo cartoons. However, I was always let down that it never turned out to be real monsters. So naturally, I was not disappointed in Kolchak: The Night Stalker.
Now, these two shows may seem unalike in that one is animated and the other not, but they both dealt with investigations into monsters, supernatural, and the paranormal. Also, they both fed my curiosity of unexplained mysteries and otherworldly phenomenon.
That's where The Hard Boys come in and if I can throw sex into the mix...Why the Hell not?!
I thought you may find it beneficial that I envision this series as very cartoonish. I understand this could add, detract, or have no effect in your experience reading this book. I thought I would mention it, but of course encourage you to envision and interpret however you choose. After all, that is the ultimate magick in reading.
Enjoy,
Ian Cadena
