About The Book

As an overseas missionary who leads lost souls toward salvation, it’s imperative I live a godly existence, even in the midst of life-shattering grief.

Returning to the States brings about a trial worse than the loss of love, and I’m faced with desire for someone forbidden to me by my church and the word of God.

Aaron Weston.

My best friend’s son who is no longer a gangly teen. He makes me want things no newly widowed man should.

His presence fills the emptiness in my life, but my sinful nature longs for more. Every inch of him—in my heart, in my body, making me feel whole again.

Giving into the hunger of the flesh will take us down a path of immorality, one that goes against my strive for holiness.

I lost my wife from focusing on promised riches in glory.

And if I make the same mistake, I fear responsibility for the ruination of another soul.

The Review

Unholy Desire is the first book in the ‘Sinful Natures’ series and I enjoyed the read very much. We have Ezra, whose wife passed away, and we have Aaron, who has to face his own problems… but when they meet again, after a long time, something changes. Despite all the challenges, the mess, the current situation they’re in, they know, deep inside, they belong together.

Ezra returns home from his missionary profession, after his wife passed away, Aaron has taken care of his father, Ezra’s best friend, after he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. He was the sole caregiver, and his own life was put on hold, all he could take care of was his father, whose health got worse. Finally, with Ezra returning, he has someone to confide in, a shoulder to lean on, someone who helps.

Ezra, on the other side, realizes, Aaron isn’t the boy he left, fifteen years ago, when he took off to spread the word of God. He is a man… and through the entire difficulties that their current situation poses, with them living under the same roof, they feel the desire… and the love.

Unholy Desire isn’t just a ‘romance’… it isn’t just about two bodies combining… it’s about love, passion, two souls interlocking… and it’s about the consciousness about what is going to happen, and being torn between what society thinks is right and appropriate, and what the heart says, is demanded and necessary for happiness. Also, it’s a story about tolerance and acceptance…

I usually have a favorite character in the books I read. This time I had a hard time to decide between Aaron, who is a wonderful young man, full of dedication, with a golden heart and goodness, selflessness and love… and Ezra, the man, who knows what’s expected of him, and is torn between that expectation and what he desires.

They both are well drawn and developed characters and I love them equally.

Sometimes they fight for themselves, sometimes they fight for each other… but they learn to combine their efforts to become a unity, and that’s what I admire.

The book is entertaining, showing the difficulties they’re facing and the problems they’re solving together. And it shows me how much two loving hearts and combined souls can achieve, when they’re interlocked and trust each other. It’s a deeply touching story, and I definitely recommend the read.
