How is he supposed to trust a man who calls himself Wolf?
Liam O’Reilly doesn’t trust anyone, not even his own mother. With good reason too, because he finds out his mother and stepfather pay to have his brother kidnapped and held against his will. Now, all Liam O'Reilly wants to do is save his brother from the people who are hunting him and get them both out of a very messed up situation. He thinks calling the police will help, but it turns out they are the enemy. When the police who are supposed to protect him throw him in the jail instead, he thinks all hope is lost, until a man named Wolf shows up. Liam isn’t sure if Wolf is his rescuer or just another bad guy. He can’t trust anyone.

“Liam. You should go in to use the bathroom. I don’t know when we’ll be able to stop next time.”

Liam had been dozing for the past hour and woke up with a start at hearing his name. He instantly started fighting for his life, but the man grabbed each arm. “It’s just me, Firecracker.” He turned his body so he could look at the man who’d spoken, and that was when the situation registered. This was still the badass biker criminal.

Liam got out of the car. He started running in the direction of the forest as quickly as he could. He didn’t know who this guy was, but he didn’t trust him.

“Shit!” He heard the man running behind him and felt arms come around his waist before he even go to the tree line. He started struggling immediately. “Liam, stop it!”

“Let me go!” Liam said and elbowed the man in the ribs.

The man grunted, but didn’t let go. “I’ll let you go, but you have to listen to me first.”

“You know my name. Why’d you ask me what it was if you knew it already?”

“I was just trying to see how severe your head injury was.” Liam elbowed the guy again and tried to twist his body so the man would let go of him. “Would you stop already? Listen to me. Liam, knock it off.”

“Fuck you.”

“I know your name because you met friends of mine at that safe house. Crash and Elijah.”

Liam stopped struggling then and got tears to his eyes. “That lady made me go there. She said if I drugged Elijah, she’d let Finn go. She’s a lying bitch. She was at the warehouse, too. I recognized her voice.”

“Yeah, I know.”

“Then the big bald dude shot everyone and left me there to die with the rest of them. I didn’t know what to do so I called the police. They took me to jail. And then to that warehouse. I think they were going to sell me. What kind of people do something like that? To sell another human being? It’s disgusting.” Liam sagged against him.

“Sick people do stuff like that. If I let you go, are you going to run again?”

“Like I’d say yes to that.” Liam rolled his eyes.

The guy chuckled. “Will you just trust me for five minutes? After five minutes, if I don’t prove to you that I’m just trying to help, then you can try and beat the shit out of me again. Deal?”

“Fine. Five minutes and you stay five feet away from me.”

“Five feet, huh?” The man let him go and Liam immediately moved away from him. The man grinned at him.
