The Gay Goblin King

An Erotic M/M Comedic Fantasy Romance

by Zwahk Muchoney

The Gay Goblin King Meets His Match in the Lovestruck Rat King

Neurospicy Goblin King Badinel is visiting the tavern for a mug of ale and maybe a bi-elf hookup, when a masked man claiming to be the Rat King bursts through the door, offering to bring our lead to the greatest heights of ecstasy.

Never one to turn down a sure thing, Badinel agrees. However, after an over-exuberant encounter involving an attack by an irate fae swarm, the Goblin King at first plans to ditch the (admittedly hot) Rat King, only to find himself embroiled in a case of pirouetting vermin-horde induced forced proximity.

However, as the pair travel together, they come to realize they are both tragic misfits suffering from a broken heart. With any luck, Badinel can finally have the happy ending he never thought possible.

A gay fantasy romance novella for fans of queer erotica and unconventional love stories.

Excerpt:

Normally I would have simply undone my codpiece and let him have his fun, but for whatever reason, I paused and asked,

"May I see you without your mask?"

He seemed a little surprised, but not unpleasantly so, and reached behind his head, unfastening his mask with great care. It was held together with leather straps that came loose one by one, letting out a soft click with every release.

He peeled it back. Upon seeing his face, I gasped,

"You.. You're so hot!... why are you wearing that thing?!”

Other than his long, mousy whiskers, every other feature of his face was sheer perfection, and oh, that smile! He had such a roguish collection of pearly whites, save for his slightly elongated front teeth.

In a sweet, musical voice, he answered,

"My subjects greatly admire me, but none are as lovely as I. This mask hides my beauty, so I may avoid causing them any unwarranted insecurities."

He leaned in and whispered,

"Now, how about letting me swallow your legendary sword?"

Ok! This was a fun read! I was able to ARC read The Gay Goblin King by Zwahk Muchoney and had a blast with this 57 page novella. I will 100% say as a gal growing up on Wizard of Oz and The Labyrinth- this book was a must read for me! Now this is not really Sarah trying to save baby brother, and we find the Wizard in something resembling the Wizard of Oz 2- yes, that is a movie- this was still a fun book with quite a bit of banter and spice.

This is book 4 in the series, and will be reading books 1-3 for sure, because I just loved this little world. Badinel, King of Goblins and his Orc bodygaurd Barg are traveling to find a Wizard to help turn infant fire breathing miniature dragons into something less flammable. When stopping at the bar for the evening of rest Badinel meets a gorgeous man disguised behind a hideous rat mask. The man has been cursed and needs to partake in copious amounts of cum to quench his thirst. He decides to travel to see the wizard, with the rest of the party.

Ok, Now that you are caught up let me tell you this story is so fun and quirky! The exchange session takes place out back and while that goods are being gotten, The Pixies are being disturbed and take it out on Badinel's balls.

But that is not all! Who is this Rat Masked Man and how was he cursed? Do they find the Wizard? And what happens when it is time to return to the human realm? If you have followed along you have reached approximately page 14. Go finish the 43 pages, and let me know if you loved this cute little story as much as me!

The Gay Goblin King is genuinely one of the funniest books I've read in a hot minute. Badinel is so dramatically done with everyone around him and yet keeps getting himself into situations entirely of his own making, and I love him for it. The Rat King showing up at that tavern and just ANNOUNCING himself like that?? The pixies nipping at the most inconvenient moment possible?? Blarg being the most long-suffering orc bodyguard in all of fantasy?? I was CACKLING.

But here's the thing, underneath all the ridiculous chaotic comedy, there's actually a really sweet slow burn happening. Two emotionally guarded kings who've both been hurt before, neither wanting to admit they're catching feelings. By the end I genuinely wanted them to work out.

Four stars because Blarg reading Pride and Prejudice while waiting for them to finish is the funniest thing that has happened to me this year and if you take nothing else from this review, take THAT.

Spicy, silly, surprisingly soft!
