Short M/M Horror Story with a touch of Romance
Vance Hanshaw, visiting his childhood summer vacation home, never realized that the dark tales he once heard about the old Victorian mansion he now owns could ever be true. All he remembered were the happy moments he had in that house, the moments he shared with Jax, the neighbours’ boy. But on this visit when handsome Jax strides in, arousing Vance’s hidden desires, chaos follows, evoking the monster trapped in the room of mirrors.

This must be the creepiest, shortest gothic story I've read in ages! I loved it!!!! The author used the gothic formula to create a fast paced haunted mansion story and somehow crafted the sweetest romance.
The end?
Omg. Plot twist alert!
I loved the ending and want more from this author, but longer with more pages. I absolutely loved the characters!!!
There’s a beautifully haunting contrast in this story:
the nostalgic tenderness between Vance and Jax...
the sensual undercurrent simmering beneath old memories…
and the creeping dread of the monster lurking in the mirrored room. It’s rare to see a short M/M romance that balances atmosphere, desire, psychological tension, and gothic horror with such precision. Readers in the queer horror and paranormal romance niche crave stories exactly like this, dark, intimate, unsettling, but still grounded in emotional truth and connection.
