“I suck at my job. If I were anyone else, you would have fired me a long time ago. Hell, anything good that comes from my office is due to my assistant.”

His father sighed deeply and sat in the club chair in front of the desk. “I know that. I hope you’ll learn.”

“I’m not going to learn. I hate it. I’m not happy.”

“And what would make you happy? You need a family to refocus your ambition.”

Scott grumbled under his breath and moved around to sit in front of his father in the facing chair. “Dad. I’m gay. Face it.”

“I know that. I get it. I’m not saying marry a woman. But, at least find a man that won’t bring you down. Someone up to your status. Don’t waste your time pining for some fisherman.”

“Papa, don’t. Cal is a fine man.”

An exceptional read. It started explosively and quite heavy.

Cal Bigsby is a fisherman who is shipwrecked and rowing his way, hopefully, to land.
Scott- the heir of his father's company- is trying to escape his life and finds himself floating on a raft in the middle of the ocean...after his yacht sunk.

What are the odds to find someone else out in the ocean?
When they lay eyes on each other there’s an instant connection.
They have to figure out how to survive and stay warm, fortunately, Cal is the expert.

A captivating short story about two men. It’s an age gap story with an instant connection. We get to know them, their lives, their background, their dreams. Two very engaging men trying to survive the ocean but also their personal lives.

I learned a lot about the sea, boat/ship, and survival environments.
It was a story with heart, it had sweetness and sexiness. It was stimulating and encouraging and it made me wonder... how on earth are they gonna survive and then what?

Love this short one!
