Colin Campbell had been a champion all his life. Nothing had ever beaten him, not even a drug lord's bullet. And he approached law school the same way he approached everything in life, with cocky confidence fizzing through his veins like ginger ale. He had it all. He had the looks, the brains, the experience, the know-how and he also had the love of his life at his side. He couldn't be defeated... he thought.

Love's Lawyer tells the full story of that crucial time period in Colin and Joshua's life. The sixteen short stories in 'Lawyer on My Case' add a bit of spice and flavoring to that tale. Told during the same time-frame or shortly after, these sixteen stories take us to David's cabin where the four friends engage in their usual playful, mocking banter in: 'Conversations at the Cabin'. To Joshua's home in Glencoe were he gives Colin some very old love letters in: 'Love Letters From Josh'. And to the campus police station where Colin gets into big trouble in: 'No Danger THIS Time!'.

We examine how Colin, Josh, and their friends deal with being quarantined during COVID in: 'Going On A Date', how they cope with their best friends becoming infected with the deadly virus in: 'Colin VS. COVID'. We also examine how Colin and Josh respond to the thought of having a child in: 'The Child We Want'. We see them in both good times and bad. We examine their text messages in: 'Text Messages', and feel Colin's rage after the George Floyd shooting in Minneapolis in: 'They're Not Cops!'.

Each of these tidbits are a profoundly different lens through which we can view Colin and Joshua's life together. Each is a moment which adds to the tapestry of their love and their journey both as individuals and as a couple. I hope you enjoy 'Lawyer on My Case.'

Excerpt:

Joshua wrapped both arms around Colin’s waist and they held each other close as they watched the sunset, with Joshua’s head resting on his chest while Colin hummed a soft, wordless melody. “Perfection,” Joshua whispered. He lifted his face to receive Colin’s kiss and tightened his arms to press their bodies even closer. “Thank you,” he whispered finally, his fingers moving to caress Colin’s face. “You’re the most wonderful man alive, and I am so blessed to be your husband.” He drew in a trembling breath. “And please believe me, I love you with my whole heart and soul.”

Colin kissed him again. “Why wouldn’t I believe you?” He nuzzled against Joshua’s cheek. “I was never a big fan of true love,” he murmured finally. “Made fun of the idea of lovers who were ‘meant to be’.” His fingers tangled in Joshua’s dark curls. “But you made a believer out of me, Josh. We belong together, you and I. We truly are ‘meant to be’. And as much as I tried to fight off it when we first met? Now I can’t imagine my life without you, without your love to support and guide me. I’d be a lost soul.”

“Never gonna happen,” Joshua murmured, his words muffled against Colin’s shoulder.

“Well, that’s sure how I see it,” Colin said, chuckling.

This is like reading between the lines. Or I guess reading between the chapters. Different situations where more is discussed like private conversations. I'm not explaining it very well but it's just sooo Colin, Josh, Nate and David. It shows Colin and Josh in so much more depth. How they react in different situations of their lives together. I am so taken with these characters. JANICE JARRELL shows through these characters how important family, friends and love is. How we are not alone in how we look at world complications, marriage, friendships and the health and well-being of others. She brings real life events to the forefront for her characters to show how some deal with complicated issues. To me it's honest emotion. I admire the style in which this Artist writes. She weaves together emotion, broad outlooks and heart stopping true love that some of us, in this life were lucky to find. I truly appreciate and admire this wordsmith. I leave each of her books with a satisfied smile. I HIGHLY, HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS SENSATIONAL BOOK AND THE FEARLESS HEART COLLECTION!!!!!!

About the Author

I’ve been writing gay romance since I was twelve years old, only back then it wasn’t called ‘gay romance’. In fact, it had no name at all. It was the fifty’s, and it was worth your life to admit to being gay, let alone confess to being a girl who constantly fantasized about relationships between gay men.

For the next twenty years I wrote slash fanfiction, mainly in the ‘Lord of the Rings’ fandom. Overall, I wrote over 337 stories, some as short as 100 words (a drabble) some as long as a series which was over 119,012 words. I enjoy writing my stories. I enjoyed the feedback I received from my readers. It was a creative release I’d been searching for my entire life and I blessed the Internet for leading me to this artistic oasis for my spirit.

But after a while it just wasn’t enough. Writing stories about other people’s characters begin to grow tiresome and repetitive. My first book, Love’s Legacy, began as an AU fanfiction story. I wrote my fandom characters in an alternative universe simply to try to extend my reach. But it fell flat.

Love’s Magic was my very first step into writing my own characters.

I hope you’ll read Love’s Magic. I hope you’ll meet David and Nate… Colin and Joshua. These dynamic, sexy, and totally adorable men carried me into a whole new world of love, romance, joy, and happily-ever-after’s. I hope they’ll do the same for you.
