Harberton... It’s not just a place, it’s a destination. It exudes class from a bygone era. Yet, in its way, it’s homey. Within the walls of this manor, status resides along with servants. Within these walls lie untold secrets. Following the Napoleonic Wars, retired Colonel Baldwin Banfield lives in isolation with his Butler, Reginald. After the loss of his wife and completion of service, he sought a simpler life.

However, when a visit from an old friend and his sister prompts them to alter their quiet way of life, they must face new challenges, such as hiring help and dealing with scandals, controversy, and pining from both the upstairs guests and downstairs staff. Despite that, when the lonely Colonel and his butler realize there is something more between them than flirtatious glances and camaraderie, there’s seemingly nothing anyone can do to stop them from pursuing love.

Unfortunately, following one's heart in a stiflingly judgmental period can be a dangerous game, especially when some forms of love are considered a crime. Join international number one best-selling author Daniel Elijah Sanderfer for this timeless Jane Austen-esque style romance set in the background of Regency Era rural England.
