Steel, one of the last Dire Wolves on earth, has searched more than 100 years for the special mate promised by the Fates. Discouraged after meeting his latest prospect, he sees a naked hitchhiker on his way home who's everything he'd envisioned the man of his dreams would be. His wolf and body tell him he's found his fated mate but why can't he pick up his scent?
Robbed of his car, clothes and money, Jackson, Alpha of the Blackwood Pack has no choice but to thumb a lift, frantic to get home to his six brothers. He's been protecting them from a rival pack who massacred most of his family and wants to finish off the rest. When Steel rolls down his window, Jackson knows he also has found his fated mate but it would be too dangerous to claim him with his pack under attack.
After the intervention of an Oracle and a Witch, Jackson discovers why the Fates made him unique-just for Steel. Navigating the mine field this revelation brings, Jackson and Steel must figure out how to make their relationship work while dealing with forces determined to kill the Blackwood pack - and them.

Excerpt:

Jackson saw the different emotions crossing Steel’s face before seeing his mate’s wolf make an appearance—claws extended, incisor teeth dropped, and hair growing on Steel’s hands and arms. As he fought the shift, Steel vibrated with intensity and, just when Jackson thought Steel would lose the battle, his wolf retreated. Steel’s eyes narrowed, studying Jackson with blatant desire

“I understand—and thanks for acting as a mate would. It must have nearly killed you to make that choice. But that’s moot now. My mother tells me you intend to claim me—as I will you—so I will stand proudly by your side to fight and protect you and those you love. That is my right as a mate.”

Steel stepped toward Jackson, compelled now to touch him, and saw Jackson take a deep breath before closing his eyes. His reaction to Steel’s scent was obvious by the big bulge in his crotch and when his mate opened his eyes, Steel saw Jackson’s wolf shining through them. He had to touch his mate—now! Steel grasped Jackson by his arms, pulling him tight to his body, their hard cocks rubbing against each other. Steel swallowed a moan as his mate’s body merged with his; and lowered his face to Jackson, now needing to taste him more than anything else. Fisting one hand into Jackson’s soft hair, Steel lowered his lips until they were just a hair’s breadth away from Jackson’s, whispering, “I need to taste you.”

Jackson felt his body tremble as Steel whispered against his lips and instantly, all anxiety about their mating fell away as he rose up on his toes and pressed his lips against Steel’s. Warm, soft, yet firm lips moved against his as he pressed hard in his need to claim Steel. Jackson parted his lips, his tongue peeking out to take a taste of Steel and then, connecting with Steel’s mouth, savored the flavor of his mate, as a moan rose up from his chest.

Steel drove his tongue in, memorizing every part of Jackson’s mouth, growling as the flavor of his mate spread throughout him until it was in his soul—indelibly etched there forever.

Suddenly, Jackson sucked Steel’s tongue in and out of his mouth, demonstrating what he wanted Steel to do to his ass. Steel could feel his cock leaking pre-cum and he knew if he continued, he would be claiming his mate on the floor. And that wouldn’t do at all. He also didn’t want it to happen with everyone here, so he reluctantly pulled himself away from Jackson’s mouth and, looking into the glazed, lust filled eyes of his mate, murmured, “Let’s take this to my home where we’ll be alone.”

Jackson felt the sudden loss of heat as Steel pulled away. He pulled Steel back toward him so their bodies could touch again and where he could continue to lose himself in Steel’s mouth. When that didn’t happen, Jackson growled with frustration and tried to pull harder. Steel resisted and instead pulled him towards the door.

As he regained awareness of where they were and what he wanted to do in his study, Jackson’s face turned pink. Damn, I was going to fuck my mate right next door to where my brothers and Steel’s parents are. Well, that thought was an erection killer. Jackson glanced at Steel, embarrassed at his wanton behavior and said quietly, “My bedroom is upstairs if you’d like to claim me there.”

About the Author

The first book I ever wrote was Dire Warning in 2017 and, much to my delight, it became an Amazon Best Seller. Readers loved it and I was on my way to chronicling the Blackwood Pack, seven brothers who are gay wolf shifters in search of their fated mates– stories about love at first sight with twists and turns, angst and humor, romance and adventure and, of course, happy endings.
Now, six books later, Ghost Walker, another Best Seller, has just been released to critical acclaim. I love the M/M paranormal genre because it gives my imagination a lot of territory in which to roam. My mind can really run wild and come up with some amazing stuff when it doesn’t have to stay inside the box.
My readers tell me they feel like they’re a member of the pack as the stories unfold. As if they’re right there in the middle of the action. Others tell me it’s like watching a fast-paced movie. My writing style pulls no punches– readers love it and are always clamoring for the next book.
Stories come to me as if they were being channeled by my characters, all of whom I love (except for a few villains). They are eager to recount their lives, loves and adventures and are not inhibited when it comes to revealing steamy details.
I currently live in the Northeast and love the beautiful change of seasons, my husband, and our quirky calico cat, though not necessarily in that order. I’m always happy to hear from my readers and can be reached through Facebook, Twitter, MeWe, or my website.
