Joshua believes love can bring Colin home. And even from across an ocean, Colin hears it calling.

Colin Campbell–Abrams went to Ireland carrying a weight his pack could never hold. Grief he couldn't name. Guilt he couldn't shake. A marriage he loved too much to destroy with the pieces of himself that remained.

Ireland didn't heal him; it offered him the grace that allowed him to heal himself.

In green hills and strangers' kindness. In ancient stones that remembered centuries of pain. In thirty seconds of unexpected sunlight breaking through gray skies. In the slow, stubborn work of putting one foot in front of the other until the man he used to be began to walk by his side.

The road taught him something Joshua had been trying to tell him from the very beginning:
You don't have to be unbreakable to be worthy of love.

Some journeys you walk alone—not to leave, but to learn how to come home.

Excerpt:

Colin leaned forward, every muscle tense. “If this is about optics, Esther—if someone’s worried about how this is going to look instead of what needs to be done to protect—”

“Stop right there! Please tell me you’re not suggesting I would compromise your safety or Joshua’s in service to political expediency!”

Colin relaxed just slightly. “Of course not, Esther, but…” He paused for a moment, then met Esther’s eyes, his gaze hot with resolve. “But there’s a target on my back, Esther. And even more importantly to me… on my husband’s back! So, forgive me if patience isn’t my first response when I suspect that the mayor is dicking around!”

“I think we both know you’re too close to this to play the long game—and that may be exactly what’s needed right now.” She leaned in, her tone sharp and unwavering. “I’ll handle city hall!”

Colin growled out a frustrated breath, his hand drawing into a fist. His anger hadn’t cooled; it had coiled into something even more volatile. He gave a slow nod. “Fine. You handle city hall. But I won’t pretend this is just another case, Esther—not when it’s Joshua’s life on the line.”

His voice was quiet, controlled, but beneath it was something razor-edged, something dangerous and close to breaking. He leaned toward his superior, his eyes narrow. “I signed on for this. I knew the risks.” He leaned another inch closer, his teeth clenching around his words. “But not him, Esther. They don’t touch him! And please believe me, if they do, I will burn everything they’ve ever loved to the fucking ground and not give a good goddamn how I do it.”

Esther held his gaze, unflinching. She let the silence stretch between them, absorbing the heat of his fury without adding fuel to it. Then, finally—quietly—she spoke. “I hear you.”

About the Author

I’ve been writing gay romance since I was twelve years old, only back then it wasn’t called ‘gay romance’. In fact, it had no name at all. It was the fifty’s, and it was worth your life to admit to being gay, let alone confess to being a girl who constantly fantasized about relationships between gay men.

For the next twenty years I wrote slash fanfiction, mainly in the ‘Lord of the Rings’ fandom. Overall, I wrote over 337 stories, some as short as 100 words (a drabble) some as long as a series which was over 119,012 words. I enjoy writing my stories. I enjoyed the feedback I received from my readers. It was a creative release I’d been searching for my entire life and I blessed the Internet for leading me to this artistic oasis for my spirit.

But after a while it just wasn’t enough. Writing stories about other people’s characters begin to grow tiresome and repetitive. My first book, Love’s Legacy, began as an AU fanfiction story. I wrote my fandom characters in an alternative universe simply to try to extend my reach. But it fell flat.

Love’s Magic was my very first step into writing my own characters.

I hope you’ll read Love’s Magic. I hope you’ll meet David and Nate… Colin and Joshua. These dynamic, sexy, and totally adorable men carried me into a whole new world of love, romance, joy, and happily-ever-after’s. I hope they’ll do the same for you.
