The Reviews
Jay
This is a pleasing collection of very short stories, all with a shifter romance theme. There is plenty of drama, and each story comes with a warning, but as some warnings are things like ‘shifter fighting’ I suspect the target readership is teen or young adult. There are hints of sex but nothing more explicit than kissing on the page, which in turn supports that theory.
The stories are well written and diverse. They all take place within a ‘world’ that has its own shifter rules including, to my amusement, the way the shifters almost universally eat pizza and drive Kias, plus their fated mates almost invariably smell of honeysuckle. Shifters are carefully distinguished from werewolves in every tale.
For adult readers who enjoy ‘cosy’ stories and like relationship development more than too much sex, this would be an enjoyable collection of coffee break reads. For younger readers, it’s be a good introduction to paranormal romance. Every story has an HEA ending, although in some cases this is entirely due to the main protagonists being fated mates rather than to any characteristics they may have.
Recommended for teens up, with a slight warning to adult readers that the stories are very short.

Twenty short MM wolf shifter fated mate’s stories. I am going to give a very short review for each story, just to give you a taste of what to expect.
Unhappy City Wolf
Joel works at a hotel where he comes face to face with his fated mate while delivering champagne and whipped cream. Unfortunately, in the bed is another man breaking Joel’s heart.
The Wolf and the Alien
Lodon is sent by his father the alpha to find his fated mate only he finds a metal object in the lake. Inside the object is his mate Arlo who discovered he had been in a state of sleep for 100 years. A werewolf and an alien must find a way to exist together.
Contract on the Wolf
A contract to kill Colton is left with the wrong man. Jace went to find the person the hit was on and when he found Colt he was called a thief and tied up. When Jace escaped Colt realized his first introduction to this mate was a huge mistake. Jace is a human, so werewolves and mates are a mystery to him.
Rejected Wolf Mate
At a bus stop Duncan smells roses and knows he found his mate only his mate was heading to the airport. Finn, like Duncan, also knew that he had met his mate and didn’t get on the plane. Finn is a fox shifter, and his family sent Duncan away. It is almost unheard of for mixed shifter pairs but the search for resolution was interesting.
The Forest Alpha Wolf’s Mate
The leader of the Forest Wolf Pack is dying, and a messenger was sent to let his son Kleo know. Treya was sent to deliver the message when the Alpha Kleo recognized his mate, only his mate was an omega. Alphas don’t mate with omega’s or do they.
Wolf Trapped
Clay is a wolf shifter who found himself locked in a trap. Fortunately, a human believing he was a dog came to his rescue and let him stay with him until he was healed and ready to be returned to the woods. Dylan had no idea the wolf he took care of was a shifter and now Clay had to get him to care for him in human form.
Backyard Wolf
While running in wolf form Gene jumped a fence and smelled his mate. Trying to look in the window in human form he fell, hitting his head. Vance found a naked man lying on the floor and helped him not realizing that the man was a wolf shifter.
Wolf Pack Justice
Ethan is on the run from his mobster boyfriend when he is mistakenly arrested for running over a wolf. When the Deputy Sheriff Levi comes into the jail, he instantly recognizes his mate. Ethan is proven innocent but a tracker on his car means that his ex knows where he is.
The Wolf’s Quest
Dennis has come to a new town as the new librarian when he steps in a snare trap. Screaming for help his phone on the floor a man comes to his rescue. Neil is a wolf shifter, and he helped Dennis bringing him home and caring for him. The rest was a beautiful story.
Another Wolf’s Beta
While working at a store Corwin recognized his Fated Mate but his mate, Andre told him he was with the alpha and hoped he would find someone. Heartbroken Corwin accepted that his mate would not be his or would he.
The Black Wolf’s Dragon
When Kienter the son of the alpha, goes searching for dragons he finds more than he expected. A dragon prince and his mate.
Moonlight for a Wolf
Kyle is a wolf shifter and while camping met his mate, Duncan a bear shifter. As a bear shifter Duncan was scary, he had to learn to control his other half, but will Kyle accept him.
Amnesic Wolf
Kyle awoke in a hospital with amnesia not knowing his name, who or what he was and the only person who approached him was a copy named Justin. Kyle and Justin were very attracted to each other, but Kyle had a lot to learn about himself.
Stalk a Wolf
Wayne is a wolf shifter and when he came home, he was grabbed, tied up and blindfolded. When he tried to go after the man who tied him up, he realized that the man was his mate.
Bryan owns a bakery, but his face is scarred, and he is a recluse and is obsessed with Wayne.
The Wolf’s Thief
Cody is a wolf shifter when he got into his car a man with a mask and gun made him drive.
Cody realized that the masked man was his mate and after listening to the radio he also realized his mate robbed a jewelry store. A wolf shifter and a thief, a mate and a very interesting pair.
Possessive Wolf Pack Alpha
Ryder ran from his abusive alpha and lover Wyatt and ended up in a town where he met his fated mate and alpha Connor. Everything was going great until Wyatt’s second found him and took Ryder back to Wyatt. What happened is not something I will write in this review.
Smell Like a Wolf
Derek is a wolf shifter who had a severe sinus infection that left him with no sense of smell making finding his mate impossible. When he decided to leave home, he found himself with a stalker leaving him anxious and scared so he went back to the place he felt safe.
A wolf with no smell couldn’t find his mate or could he.
Mis-matched Wolf Mates
Two wolf shifters, cousins find their fated mates, but their mates are twins and soon they realize they are with the wrong boyfriend.
Hiding from the Wolf
Kerry is an escort for wolves. His current customer is Taylor who plays a game of hide and seek with him and when Kerry wins Taylor hires him for the next week. What happens when Kerry loses?
The Wolf’s Raven
Shawn and Ren are fated mates only Shawn is a wolf and Ren is a raven. When they first see each other, Ren runs he wants a mate who can fly with him not a wolf. Unfortunately, Ren’s raven and Shawn’s wolf refuse to shift or speak with them so something must be done.
Each story in this collection was beautiful – searching for fated mates and love with humans, dragons, birds and bears. Five stars.

I’ve been doing book reviews on my website, crossposted or linked to various social media, for a few years. I read a number of genres but I really enjoy all kinds of speculative fiction so thought I’d like to share my views with you. I love sci fi and other speculative fiction because of the way it can, at its best, make us see ourselves in a new light. Quite apart from the exciting stories, of course! I used to be an English teacher, and I’m a writer (fantasy) so I can be quite critical about style etc. but I hope I can also appreciate properly some books that don’t appeal to me personally but might be simply perfect for others. I have, obviously, read widely, and continue to do so.
I am an avid reader the mother of 3 sons and grandmother to seven grandchildren. Since retiring I have been doing more reading while volunteering as a CASA worker. CASA is an organization that works with the family court system to ensure that children are in the best living situation. There are way too many children that get overlooked in the foster care system and I visit homes and make visits to the parents. I was born and raised in New York and my husband of 50 years and I live in Upstate New York.
