About The Book
A marriage alliance to end a war, that was the plan. Someone doesn’t want that alliance to happen.
Omega prince Lashar of Echera would do anything to protect his people, even marry enemy prince Ardan and live in a nation where omegas are regarded as inferior. But on the way to the wedding, his party is attacked and only Lashar escapes into the forest, desperate to warn his king.
To end the war, alpha prince Ardan of Firol agreed to marry a foreigner and learn the ways of his country. But on the way to the wedding his messengers vanish, and no one appears at the rendezvous. He finds Lashar, but soon after another attack leaves the two princes alone in the woods. Ardan hoped his match would be tolerable. He wasn’t expecting Lashar to fill him with admiration, and desire.
With no help and only one cloak for warmth, Ardan and Lashar must rely on each other. But how can they trust each other when they both suspect the other’s family of betrayal? Can peace, and their growing love, be saved?
The Review
Princes at War is Lashar’s and Ardan’s story. They are both princes – Prince Lashar is an Ecera prince and Prince Ardan is the Firolan crown prince. They are about to get married in a deal to end the war that Firolan started two years ago without provocation, but had not counted on such fierce resistance from Echera. Neither prince is happy about the war or the arrangement, but married they will be.
As they make their way towards each other, their parties are set upon by soldiers. Lashar manages to escape on his own when his group is attacked. He is found by Ardan’s group and an interesting meeting happens between the two intended grooms. Ardan’s party is then attacked as well, and the two princes flee to safety.
The story follows the pair as they make plans to rescue their comrades and find ways to work together. As trust builds, so does attraction, and they end up falling for each other. As this universe involves alphas, omegas and male pregnancy, expect the patter of little feet in the near future.
There is a lot going on, from women’s and omega’s rights being at risk to court politics and, potentially, traitors around every corner. Very entertaining, particularly when the Firolans are faced with an omega prince who is handy with a sword, and is not about to be intimidated by a bunch of untrustworthy alphas / invaders.

Tony is an Englishman living amongst the Welsh and the Other Folk in the mountains of Wales. He lives with his partner of thirty-six years, four dogs, two ponies, various birds, and his bees. He is a retired lecturer and a writer of no renown but that doesn’t stop him enjoying what he used to think of as ‘sensible’ fantasy and sf. He’s surprised to find that if the story is well written and has likeable characters undergoing the trails of life, i.e. falling in love, falling out of love, having a bit of nooky (but not all the time), fending off foes, aliens and monsters, etc., he’ll be happy as a sandperson who has just offloaded a wagon of sand at the going market price. As long as there’s a story, he’s in. He aims to write fair and honest reviews. If he finds he is not the target reader he’ll move on.
