The Review
Unexpected Sparks is about two guys who no longer want to just hook up and are on the look out for a meaningful relationship. Sadly, it seems they have no control over themselves, and end up in the men’s room at a hotel doing just that.
This follows the scene outside the restaurant when they meet one of the main character’s less-than-nice ex. In doing so, that character shows that the ex’s comments may be true even if more than a bit judgemental and hypocritical as he is also on a ‘date’.
So what you get are familiar / tired old tropes in a short read that does not make you want more. I would like to know if there is some sort of paranormal element playing out. That’s all I could think of as an explanation as to how one of the cars got from the restaurant parking to the hotel parking without being driven there.
Maybe there’s another possible answer to that question. I’ll leave you to work out what that is.
