About The Book

The time has come.

The Dark Mage, Lord Morgorth, and Aishe of the Ravena Tribe, are to become bondmates.

Morgorth is equal parts nervous and excited. He wants to unite with Aishe in the sacred dialen ceremony, to proclaim their devotion to the world, to show everyone that Aishe is his equal and deserving of respect. After all they’ve survived together, why shouldn’t they make the cosmic promise before friends and family? But duty must often come before pleasure. When Morgorth’s estranged mentor, Master Ulezander, comes to him with a time-sensitive mission involving a major stone of power, Morgorth has little choice but to acquiesce.

Aishe knows his mate struggles with the revelation of his true destiny, after a lifetime of defining himself as the future Destroyer of Karishian. All he can do is reassure Morgorth that being the Savior is a far better fate for both of them. But as Morgorth and Aishe leap through worlds and dimensions in pursuit of a stone of power, more pieces to the puzzle of Morgorth’s destiny are revealed. And they form an image of sacrifice and tragedy.

The dark cloud of an ancient enemy looms ever closer, and the path to becoming the Savior might prove more monstrous than that of the Destroyer.

The Review

Morgorth, the Dark Mage who once relished his reputation as the Destroyer, now finds himself preparing for his bonding ceremony with Aishe of the Ravena Tribe. Morgorth has learned that he’s not the Destroyer, but the Savior, and that he was lied to by everyone in his life. To succeed as the Savior, he must find all the stones of power, especially the Sapphire – one of the most powerful stones. Then he can help the Mother destroy their enemy, the Formoryans.

His mentor Ulezander, once the man he considered a father, lied by omission. Morgorth is not willing to forgive him, and has banned him from his bonding ceremony.

Morgorth agreed to the ceremony following Aishe’s customs, customs not in his wheelhouse. He has to learn three dances and has two left feet. He has to sew a bonding tunic for Aishe, and then his vows must be put into a song that he has to sing outloud to everyone in attendance, and he is not allowed to use magic to assist. Still, Morgorth is willing to go through anything to make his bond mate happy, even to the point of embarrassing himself.

There is only one thing that can interfere with the ceremony – the need for Morgorth and Aishe to go immediately to search for and retrieve the Sapphire stone. There is no way of knowing what going after the Sapphire will involve, since it’s one of the major stones and is extremely powerful.

The coming battle coming could mean death for Morgorth or Aishe, but it has to be fought.

As expected, getting their hands on the Sapphire proves difficult, sending them through various dimensions and time periods. The Sapphire is protected in a box that Morgorth has to figure out how to open, which ius easier said than done. While trying to finally get the Sapphire, Morgorth learns more about his bloodline – one more disappointment among so many others.

This is a series has everything – good, evil, amazing characters and magic. Five stars.

Note: This series must be read in order, and once you finish book one, you will have seven more to go. Lucky you!
