The Review
This novella ended in a cliffhanger, but fortunately this is a prequel, and the other books in the series have already been published. I have not read any of the books in the series other than this one, which introduced me to Ben Nero and Dex Draven, two characters that I really loved.
Two men from two different planets that are on the brink of war. Ben is from the planet Valyria, a race of psychics. Dex is from Mogadon and was born into the Mogadon Empire’s ruling class.
Dex’s father is a brutal man, and is a morality officer who has made being gay punishable by death. Unfortunately, the one person Dex thinks about all the time and wants to be with is his childhood friend Ben. But being with him would be deadly for Ben.
When Dex sees a naked Ben in the shower, he runs but Ben follows him, and all that pent-up sexual tension boils over. And yet, what should have been a beautiful time when two men in love finally get together is filled with fear.
The story ends with a “to be continued. ” Who knows what the future holds for these two men? I look forward to finding out.
