About The Book
A city plunged into darkness.
Fen Theora’son is a handsome journeyman in Thyre’s Lamplighter’s Guild. He’s in love with Lewin, a Mason’s Guild journeyman, but they have to keep their affair secret. If they’re discovered, the cross-guild relationship could get them both thrown out.
When the spindle – Forever’s main source of light – goes dark, the whole city looks to the lamplighters to bring light and hope. Fen must choose between loyalty to the Guild Masters and compassion, and risk putting himself, Lewin and his friends on the line.
The Review
This is a short story that is part of the Liminal Sky world. And it is fabulous. This quick read is the perfect dip into the world building skill of J Scott Coatsworth and his Liminal Sky series.
From word one, you are yanked into the story and, somehow, in just a few sentences, you are immersed in what could be the end of the world. I really loved this little story. After I was finished I found myself wanting to go back and read the rest of the published series.
I am so glad that the author let us have this bit of Liminal lore. Fans of the series should definitely pick up this story. New readers can see a glimpse of the universe Coatsworth has created and will surely be fans – like me!

In writing this bio I am taking a rare break from reading! I always have a book on hand just in case there is time to sneak in a chapter or two. As a military spouse and a mom of two boys, it is amazing how often I am hurrying up to wait. Luckily for me I don’t have a favorite genre so I get lots of fun authors to choose from. My education was in sociology and mental health counseling, so stories with strong character development are my favorites. Happily Ever After is the best part of romance for me because real life is hard enough.
