About The Book

Hades, Lord of the Underworld, has spent years searching the world for his Fated Mate. He’s watched his brother and nephews find their “light” and yet he can’t find his. On the verge of giving up hope, Hades attends his brother Poseidon’s wedding; so outside his comfort zone, but his discomfort proves worth it. Because there, at the reception, he finally sees his light.

It wasn’t that Ali was uncomfortable around wolves – he’d been a good friend of Claude’s for years. But when one of the wolves at Claude’s and Poseidon’s wedding gets verbally pushy, he feels he has no choice but to shift and find the alpha. What he doesn’t expect is to find a beautiful man with soulful eyes, holding out his hand.

After all Ali and Hades have been through in their lives, you’d think the Fates would be kind to them. But between Cerberus’s howling, Persephone’s snarking, and Ali’s family proving there is more to them than their blatant wealth, Ali and Hades have their hands full creating a life with each other. But maybe, just maybe, the Mother has a gift for them after all.

This is an MM paranormal true mates story intended for adults only. Can be read as a stand-alone.

The Review

This is the first book I have read in this series but not my last, a totally new look at Hades and the Underworld he rules. Hades has been searching for love, he has left no stone unturned but as the God of the Underworld he is reviled by everyone including his family so finding the mate he knows will have a light has been very unsuccessful until he attends his brother Poseidon’s wedding.

Poseidon is marrying his mate, a wolf shifter and has begged Hades to attend giving him another opportunity to possibly find his mate. At the wedding Hades is of course treated as the black sheep because he was given the Underworld to rule while his brothers all stayed on top, a job he didn’t ask for but a job he accepted. Never expecting to find his mate at the wedding he is shocked when a chipmunk jumps on Poseidon’s mate’s shoulder to get away from a wolf shifter determined to get him to give him some lovin. As soon as Hades sees this little chipmunk he sees a light and knows that he has finally found his mate.

Aloysius Thorndyke Barrington Garcia (Ali), a very big name for a very small creature is instantly smitten with Hades and as a shifter knows his mate when he sees him. Hades takes Ali to his home in Greece fearful of subjecting his new love to the Underworld and all the darkness. Ali is a light in a dark world with absolutely no filter. He has no fear of Hades and resents anyone who belittles him. He endears himself to both demons and hellhounds and rids the Underworld of Persephone once and for all. In this version Ms. Oliver has shown Persephone as the total opposite of a Goddess kidnapped and abused.

Hades tries hard to keep Ali from seeing the worst of the worst but Ali will not hear of it as Hades mate he insists on sharing everything with him even sitting in on the trials and sentences of the evil souls who appear in front of Him. Noone not God, Goddess, shifter or human can say one bad word about the man he loves and Ali proves it over and over again. Hades hates his job but knows that someone has to keep evil from the world and there is no doubt that Hell is the place for the worst of humanity.

Hades and Ali both have families who have abandoned them and who deserve love. Their story was beautiful and I absolutely loved Ali from the first minute he opened his mouth at the wedding.
