About The Book

Once the line is crossed, every penalty is major.

Dalek “Taz” Tazandlakova is the epitome of a hockey player—tall, broad, and powerful. As a forward for the Lafayette Ice Water Moccasins, he’s also the physical embodiment of domination and intimidation.

He’s everything Liam Jolivet isn’t.

Liam possesses an inner strength and confidence Taz has never mastered. On the surface, Liam appears to be a perfect match for Taz. The problem is, Liam is dating Taz’s roommate. It’s not the only problem, either. Taz is a “playa” and has commitment issues—along with a pain-in-the-ass coach who’s threatening to ruin his career, and a second roommate who wants to dictate his social life for his own personal gain.

Nevertheless, Taz wants Liam, and Liam appears to want to reciprocate. Do they dare cross the line?

The Review

This is a stand alone sports romance.

The focus of this book is Dalek “Taz” Tazandlakova, a minor league hockey player facing challenges both on and off the ice.  Taz is an oasis of decency among what seems to be an overwhelming sea of opportunistic friends and fellow hockey players.  There were times when it was painful to see him get knocked down by life over and over.

His romance with Liam is the bright spot.

The resolution felt a bit rushed, with some loose ends left unresolved.  The language in the book seemed a bit formal at times.  There was a lack of slang and casual verbiage that drew me out of the narrative.

Otherwise, the premise was well developed.

I was invested in what was going to happen in their world as Taz and Liam fell for each other.

The Reviewer

In writing this bio I am taking a rare break from reading! I always have a book on hand just in case there is time to sneak in a chapter or two. As a military spouse and a mom of two boys, it is amazing how often I am hurrying up to wait. Luckily for me I don’t have a favorite genre so I get lots of fun authors to choose from. My education was in sociology and mental health counseling, so stories with strong character development are my favorites. Happily Ever After is the best part of romance for me because real life is hard enough.
