While Beth decorated the tree downstairs the boys had gone upstairs to play video games and call Stacey. Matt dialed the phone as Josh and he laid side by side on the bedroom floor.
The phone rang on the other end. Stacey answered; her tone dripping with sarcasm, “Oh I see how it is, you have your little boyfriend with you so I’m not a priority.”
Matt groaned, “Oh please, you know how mom loves the holidays; she’s been keeping us busy since Josh got into town.”
The line was silent for a moment before Stacey finally replied, “Yeah, yeah, excuses, excuses all I know is you two squares better meet me at the mall tomorrow so we can hang out before Christmas.”
Matt grinned, “We’ll be there.”
Stacey quipped, “Later square bear.”
Matt mumbled, “Later.”
He turned his attention back to the game he and Josh were playing. A look of confusion invading his expression; he turned to Josh,

What happened?”
Josh grinned, “You got killed.”
Matt groaned, “Ugh, no fair.”
Josh replied with genuine remorse, “I’m sorry.”
Matt shook his head, “You’re fine,” his frown twitched to an impish grin, “Besides I have a better game we can play.”
Josh arched his brow, “Oh, and what would that be?”
Matt moved his face in closer to Josh, and Josh grinned, “Oh, I see; I’ve played this game before but maybe we should…”
Matt’s lips silenced his in a kiss as Josh mumbled the rest of his statement, “Go over the rules again.”
Matt separated and whispered, “There are no rules.”
Josh whispered, “How fun.”
