Devon jolted awake from a deep sleep. Opening his eyes, slowly, he focused through a plume of twinkling, white powder to a stranger standing at the foot of the bed. He thought he was imagining this six foot tall man, sculpted like a Greek god. His head was adorned with a red and white Santa hat. His trimmed, snowy white beard blended with the long hair cascading down to his ivory, cropped hairy chest. Scrutinizing him more thoroughly, he realized he was not an apparition but real. Devon’s penis surged into erection, as he stared at the fluffy, red jockstrap, accenting the large bulge beneath. He couldn’t ignore the black leather suspenders attached to the waistband of the Christmas themed loin cloth and the shiny, dark, leather boots, stretching to his knees. He never imagined Santa Claus would excite him as this man did.

“Who are you?” Devon gasped, accelerating his curiosity into unfamiliar fantasies.

“Don’t you recognize me, Devon?” The man bellowed a hearty laugh.

“You look like the Santa Claus from my childhood memories.” Devon mumbled, secretively.

“Have you given up on the true spirit of Christmas?” The Santa Claus imposter smiled and sat at the edge of the bed next to Devon.

Devon’s right hand brushed the unruly hair from his eyes. Becoming more alert, he focused his eyes more from the previous distorted vision. He turned to wake Peter, but his partner was gone.

“Peter left an hour ago.  Don’t you remember he had to work early?”

“How do you know our names?”

“You still don’t believe.” The man smiled, his sparkling, cobalt blue eyes radiating erotic warmth.

“You can’t be the real Santa Claus,” Devon insisted.

“Well…-no.  I’m a special assistant, assigned to help him.”

“You’re one of his elves, then?”

“No. Look at me. Do I really look like an elf?”

“You can’t be one of Santa’s elves. You’re too big. And the size of that bulge beneath your very revealing jockstrap would definitely eliminate you.”

“I’m a Secret Santa. I was sent here to rekindle your love and happiness.” The secret assistant edged closer, the bulge in his pouch becoming more pronounced.

“Did the real Santa Claus send you to seduce me?”

“Oh; no, no, no!  You’ve been selected to be a Secret Santa, like me.” He shimmied next to Devon, until there was physical contact between them. “I’ll teach you how to become a Secret Santa. I’ll reignite the fire of your passion with an exceptional power found in the special recipe from the North Pole’s almighty vault. Ultimately, Peter’s happiness will be retored.” He stooped, rubbing his broad shoulders against Devon’s chest.

“I’m getting aroused? This shouldn’t be happening, if you were sent by the real Santa.”

“I’m only testing you, and your love for Peter. And to evaluate your qualifications.” He set his hand on Devon’s thigh, massaging it, firmly.

“This is the worst temptation I’ve had in years.  What’s your name?”

“It will get easier,” he spoke softly, continuing to grope his leg.

A naughty holiday number written by a gay man, for gay men.

While this story contains a little more show than tell for this reviewer, I know it's exactly the clear cut, tell-it-like-it-is, "hairy ass crack" and all many readers and gay men will love to read.
The word use is descriptive of a m/m relationship, and lacks the flowery and overly mushy adornment commonly found in some female written stories. I've heard many readers say they prefer the real deal in gay male stories, as do I on occasion, so this was a special treat.
While maintaining his obvious true to romance nature in this erotic tale, Mr. Michaels gets down and dirty with his Christmas "treats" for his partner. One may think this story was more a realistic tale than a fictional one - except for the Secret Santa, of course. *grin*
Pablo Michaels is definitely a man's man as an author.

Authors can continue to improve year by year with the honest feedback provided by their fans, followers, and reviewers. I've had the opportunity to read and review this author's work in the past, and I'm very happy to have noted some improvement in several areas of his writing. He clearly takes critique to heart and adapts it to his future works to strengthen his ability. This is nice to see.
Great job!

An Uplifting Read

The Secret Santa by Pablo Michaels is a short sweet and romantic tale of two men, Devon and Peter, whose love life has become stale, due to their occupations. Peter, a salesman, works long brain-numbing hours in a department store, and Devon helps the needy. Both are, from what I gathered, middle-aged and living the average daily routine, all work and no play.
One morning Devon wakes to find a gorgeous scantily clad “secret Santa” standing in his bedroom—six-foot and sculpted like a Greek god—as the author describes. The self-proclaimed secret Santa who calls himself Erik has arrived just before Christmas to help Devon rejuvenate his love life.
The Secret Santa sends a positive message for monogamous relationships, as Devon remains wholly devoted to Peter even though Erik teases him sexually, almost on a daily basis. He honestly wants to restore his love life and takes Erik’s sage advice to heart. The author’s “revive our love” theme really inspired me as the reader, which made this short a fun and uplifting read. Also the description of all the delicious food made my stomach rumble; perhaps the author should’ve added a few recipes.

I want a Secret Santa!!
Pablo is an amazing writer, his stories are so full of adventure and detail. With Secret Santa he pulls you right in, as if you are living the characters story. His way of pulling you in makes you feel the emotions of the characters and their how they become who they are. This story had its ohhhs and ahhhs for sure and even had me clenching my heart for the main character. Truly inspiring story with a huge climax that wanted to keep me reading until I reached the last page, of which I didn't want to end. Pablo really pulled and twisted this story into an awesome holiday adventure. I loved it!! Amazing job Pablo!!!

About the Author

Pablo Michaels disguised himself as a shy, friendly heterosexual during his adolescence, fantasizing other males. Like most writers he is essentially a loner. He was born gay. When he worked at the local public library in high school, he smuggled out adult fiction and non-fiction, discovering a disenchanted perception of gay life from the books discussing homosexuality. Growing up with domineering conversationalists in his family and among friends, he withdrew to express his life through words and fantasies. Falling in love with another man his first year in college, he followed him to another university to maintain their platonic love, while he continued in his in studies. When he had his first sexual encounter with another man, just before turning twenty-one, he exploded into gay life with lust and anger. He attempted to live his new life naturally, seeking love, ignoring the statistics of the books he had read on homosexuality in high school, and proving what he had read was wrong.
He wrote poetry and stories since third grade. When he turned twenty-one, he moved to San Francisco to work, write, and experience more of gay life. In the 1980's he wrote every chance he had, trying and failing miserably at publishing mainstream fiction. He published his first story, Reunion on the Trail in 1986 in a literary magazine. He devoted his life, while working full-time and part-time at another job in San Francisco in the 1980’s, to write and submit his stories, novels and poetry. He found his true voice for the craft in 1990 when he began an unfinished novel. “The Deer in the Forest”. This book is still unfinished. He diverts his nervous energy into perfecting the voices that drive him into this craft he loves. He believes god is present in all human beings, plants, nature and the universe, and if given the chance, they will speak to a true romanticist’s heart and soul, like it does to himself.

After writing plays, short stories, poetry, and two novels, he began writing gay genre fiction, since he had more knowledge and experience with the gay lifestyle. Trying to publish, he went to a library seminar hosted by two published authors. Inspired by the gay writer, Scott Kemble he connected with him on the internet site, The San Francisco Bay Area Literary Arts Newsletter and Review, which published four of Pablo's short stories.

Pablo’s first e-book, When Johnny Comes Marching Home Again, Hooray was published, in 2010. In 2012 he published his first novel, Catnip, Rosemary, Rage and Time.

Feverously writing since 2004, he published his first e-book, Pagan Knights of Cambria with Life of Riley Productions in London in 2010. A few months later, his mainstream story, When Johnny Comes Marching Home Again Hooray, was published with Life of Riley Productions also. In 2012 Pablo self-published his first novel, Catnip, Rosemary, Rage and Time. Pablo combined mystery and humor in this gay, erotic romance on a cruise. Also in 2012, his short story A Night at San Gregorio Beach in the anthology The Boys Club was published by Naughty Nights Press. He continued to write more episodes in his next novel, The Deer in the Forest. The plot spreads over several decades, about a man's attempts to adapt to the world he lives in as a gay man, all with love, heartache, history and survival at no cost.

His latest article, Why Gay Men Retire to Palm Springs, was published in the very popular online magazine. You can read the insightful article here.

Pablo retired in 2014 from gardening and landscaping to devote his energy to write fiction. As a gay man he wishes to promote his writing in the gay genre to help others understand the necessity for equal rights for LGBTQ people and comprehend that love between a man and a man, people of the same sex, is as natural as love between a man and a woman. Throughout his lifetime he has experienced the long battle of achieving acceptance. He has searched for a committed relationship with another man throughout his active gay life. He has loved his partner for twenty years. They were married legally in front of Harvey Milk's bust in the rotunda of San Francisco City Hall by a judge, in 2008. Although their marriage remained legal after the passage of Proposition 8, they continued to work to repeal DOMA and Prop. 8. Throughout his life he has attempted to live and practice peace as a process for living and changing the world.

His book, Blood, Sweat and Black Leather, a gay paranormal romance, was published by Yellow Silk Dreams in January 2015. His next book, Affairs of Men’s Hearts, published in May 2015 by Yellow Silk Dreams is an anthology of four stories connected by the themes of gay men seeking love with another man, from wishful thinking male to male romances to gay marriage. Jack and the Magical Beanstalk Book 1, is a gay adult fairy tale, published in November, 2015 by Yellow Silk Dreams. It is the first in the series, Jack’s Magical Beanstalk, based on the traditional fairy tale Jack and the Beanstalk And Jack’s Magical Beanstalk & the Jeweled Grotto Book 2, was published in September 2016 by Yellow Silk Dreams. Prelude to Jack’s Magical Beanstalk & Sam’s Quandary Book 3 was published in September 2016 by Yellow Silk Dreams. Pablo is currently writing Jack’s Magical Beanstalk & Sam’s Quandary Book 4 is the last book in the series.

When Pablo is not writing he loves to travel with his husband, garden in their yard, entertain with friends and neighbors, and go to the theater. They live on a quiet country street in the urban metropolis of the San Francisco Bay Area with their twelve year-old American Eskimo Husky, Bailey. They live openly as a gay couple without any inhibitions.
