Home is where you make it.
Beau Hopper is good at goodbyes. A minor-league hockey player, he goes where the league tells him. Single and estranged from his family, Beau drifts without connections or commitments. He makes a living, not a life.
Former Marine Connor Casey’s life revolves around his siblings. After Hurricane Harvey took their home and a car-crash claimed their parents, Connor is determined to rebuild their house and their lives.
When Beau learns Connor might lose custody of his siblings if he can’t finish the rebuild in time, he volunteers to help in exchange for a place to stay, and it isn’t long before he finds himself in Connor’s bed. It takes more than passion and plywood to build a home, so when the league comes calling after Beau, Connor can’t ask him to stay... but how can he ever let him go?

Gah, this book! Connor and Beau are simply magic together. The banter, the almost instantaneous connection, and the sexually-charged energy between them drew me in completely. Their chemistry is undeniable and so damn hot! But more than that, the way they treat each other and the tenderness that develops between them... *insert swoony sigh here*. These men truly bring out the best in each other and I adored every sentence on the way to their HEA. I was like a moth to their flame reading this story. Seriously.
Yes, Author Amy Wasp has produced, created, cooked up another wonderful story. By now, I believe that this is a sure thing when I see this author's name in a new book. I loved her military series and this hockey series is even better. SCORE is one of those stories that is so smooth, so beautifully written that I think I have about 30 underlined excerpts. This is by far not a comedy and there are some serious topics but underneath it all there is a flavor of humor that persists in floating to the top!
I don't want to ruin your appreciation of this crazy story by spilling the beans. Let's just stay that this story is heart-breaking, soul-shaking, earth-quaking and yes, even love-making. You, the reader, will experience the full range of emotions, with the characters in the story. There are secondary characters to despise, others who engender strong dislike and yet others who make you warm and fuzzy with electric shocks like those you experience when walking in stockings on a carpet in the winter. Oh yes, there are zingers - "warm for my form" for example. An occasional slip of the tongue and sprinkles, of incredible humor. You will meet a van named Lady Gaga, a Prince named Connorette and Breaumeo, a handsome knight with blue hair and beefy arms, There are teens and tweens, attitudes and parenting mishaps
This is the first book in a brand new series. Future books will not be under the Hidden Creek branding, but there will be future books!
