Paper Roses

A Veterans Affairs Story

by A. E. Wasp

Mikey Washington really does want to be married. The whole thing had been his idea in the first place. So maybe “Do you want to marry me or not, pendejo?” wasn’t the world’s most romantic proposal, but Mikey had meant every word of it. Besides, Benny Quintaña had been making Mikey crazy since they were twelve-years-old. Mikey was used to it.

So why did planning this wedding feel like facing a firing squad?

When Benny had asked Mikey to marry him, Mikey’s answer had been “I’m going to fucking kill you.”

“Is that a yes?” Benny had asked. He liked to be clear on things.

“Yeah, for real, even though you’re an idiot,” Mikey had answered. That sounded like true love to Benny.

So why does Benny have the feeling Mikey has one foot out the door?

Bonus Honeymoon in Puerta Vallarta chapters included! (You knew they'd make it, right?)

Another wonderful love story, 4.5 stars, with strong, emotional and funny male main characters by this author, on my one-click list.

Paper Roses is absolutely a wonderful, romantic and funny, fantastic plot/writing. All about love, friendships, and family with a little drama but having fun too.

Veteran’s Affair books are sexy, romantic, funny, emotional, messy and realistic. A. E. Wasp writes her stories with REAL issues faced by the men and women who have ever served in the armed forces, especially those like PTSD and TBI. Her characters are richly layered and complicated filled with love and fun. The stories are homey and heartfelt with family and friends with atmosphere set in a small town where the characters know each other. I voluntarily read an ARC of this book and am giving an honest review.

This is a direct sequel to Paper Hearts.

About the Author

After time spent raising children, earning several college degrees, and traveling the world with the U.S. State Department, she is returning to her first love - writing.

A dreamer and an idealist, Amy writes about people finding connection in a world that can seem lonely and magic in a world than can seem all too mundane. She invites readers into her characters’ lives and worlds when they are their most vulnerable, their most human, living with the same hopes and fears we all have. Avid traveler who has lived in big cities and small towns in four different continents, Amy has found that time and distance are no barriers to love. She invites her readers to reach out and share how her characters have touched their lives or how the found families they have gathered around them have shaped their worlds.

Born on Long Island, NY, Amy has lived in Los Angeles, London, and Bangkok. She currently lives in Fort Collins, Colorado for who knows how long.
