Russ has worked hard to get where he is and doesn’t need Stephen Parker to take care of him. But as they wrestle to balance love and finances, the tables are turned when Stephen's father dies.

It's Russ's turn to take care of Stephen, opening his eyes to the true depth of his feelings—and what he can bring to the relationship. If Russ can find the strength, he can be Stephen's support, his heart, and his hope for the future.

“Worth it,” Russ muttered into the pillow. They’d both collapsed on the bed and Stephen was draped over his back, sweaty, hot, and heavy. He’d tried to move off Russ, but Russ grabbed his hand, twining their fingers together and pulling it against his chest. They were half on their sides, Russ’s spent cock was sticky against his inner thigh, and he could feel the strong beat of Stephen’s heart against his shoulder blade. He’d never felt better. “So fucking worth it.”

“Yeah?” Stephen’s lips tickled the back of his neck and Russ wondered if he was smiling.

“Mm-hmm. Thought the tension would kill me this week, but goddamn.” Russ had never come so hard. Ever. He’d covered the headboard for fuck’s sake. There was probably cum on the pillows, the sheets, and God knew what else. Definitely his hair, but he felt too wrung out to care. He needed another shower anyway. “We destroyed your bed.”

Stephen laughed, then kissed the back of his neck, squeezing him tighter. “I was sort of bluffing about the headboard thing, but you really delivered.”

Russ laughed too, feeling spent, sore, and so goddamn good he’d never come down from the high. He let go of Stephen’s hand and rolled over to face him. Stephen shifted so they were side by side on the bed, running a possessive hand down Russ’s spine. Christ, there was something about the way Stephen touched him that made every caress feel like ownership.

“I liked you calling me baby,” he admitted.

He had never understood how he could feel so needy in the bedroom yet be so independent out of it. He wanted a partner in his day-to-day life to treat him like an equal and take charge of him in the bedroom. This had proven they had the right dynamic in bed. If he and Stephen could work out the other stuff … Well, it would be just about perfect.

Stephen’s smile was smug as he ran a thumb across Russ’s lower lip. “I’ll be sure to call you baby again then.”

Russ shivered. “And boy. I liked that too.” Admitting that wasn’t easy, but Stephen merely kissed him.

“I’ll remember that. I like pleasing you,” Stephen murmured. Russ closed his eyes, feeling drowsy and content. “We should shower and clean off the headboard, although I don’t see any point in changing the sheets when we’re just going to dirty them again.”

Russ’s cock twitched with interest at the thought of getting off again. Maybe Stephen would blow him, or hell, he could blow Stephen. He wanted to know what he’d taste like. He pictured Stephen fucking his mouth in the shower and shuddered. “Yeah, let’s go,” he agreed.

Stephen laughed softly and kissed him again. “Greedy boy. You’ll wear an old man out.”

Russ ran his hand down Stephen’s chest and pulled him in for a deep, needy kiss. “I’ll certainly try.”
