Unrequited love really sucked sometimes, especially when you’re stuck with them for days.

Danny Newell has loved Locke for six years. Every time they have to work together that love grows just a little bit more desperate. Of course, it would be easier if Locke gave him the time of day. When Danny gets a phone call late at night and goes out on a mission by himself the last person he expects to go after him is Locke. Being stuck on a mission with a man that despises him is not his favorite thing to say the least.

Danny was pretty sure there was a bug crawling on his back. He reached over and tried to brush it away but he still felt it crawling on him where he couldn’t reach. “I have a bug on me,” Danny whispered to Locke. They were in the forest seeing who came in or out of the shed. Danny wasn’t exactly the hunting type and really didn’t like the things that came out at night. He liked being outside on the beach during the day, but not so much in the forest.

“Shut up and pay attention.” Locke said.

“I’m about to queen the fuck out. Seriously. There are at least ten poisonous species of bugs in this area.” Danny had no idea if there was even one poisonous species of bug but it sounded good.

“Did you just make that up?” Danny could see the corner of Locke’s mouth turn up at the corner.

“Yeah. It could be true though. Please Locke. It’s on my back. Get it off me,” Danny said and shuttered. If he wasn’t supposed to be quiet and watch the little building with Locke, he would totally be doing the I-hate-bugs-and-spiders dance. He felt Locke’s hand on his back, running over it gently. “Left and up,” Danny whispered and tried to move so that Locke got the crawling thing for him. Eventually he didn’t feel it anymore so Danny figured Locke got it. “I think it’s gone.”

“Good.” Locke kept a hand on his back, rubbing his thumb in small circles. Danny wasn’t even sure he was aware of it.

“Thanks.” Several minutes passed before Danny said, “Why’d you kiss me?”

Locke shrugged. “You kissed me back.”

“What are you, ten years old?”

“Right because a bug, a bug is so adult.”

“Well, how about you kissed me first? How’s that for childish?”

“That was very immature. Good job.”

“Thank you, I’ll be here all week.” Danny blew him a kiss.
