Krie Captivity - Kora Knight - Nira Chronicles
Part of the The Nira Chronicles series:
Editions:Kindle: $ 2.99
Pages: 127

Nira. Astrum Industries’ newest charted planet. Freshly discovered. Wholly unexplored. But that won’t be the case for long. Led by Captain Alec Hamlin, a team of explorers make an emergency landing and are soon confronted by their first Niran native. A huge male Kríe packed with muscle, baring small, black horns and fangs. Fortunately, he’s friendly. Or so he lets them believe.
With the help of his pack, the Kríe takes Alec’s team captive, intending to sell them for profit. But these Nirans aren’t just shrewd, they’re arrogant and domineering. And most of all, extremely sexual. Which explains why, on their journey to peddle their new wares, they feed Alec’s team a powerful aphrodisiac. Nothing like some decadent entertainment on the side. Soon the team finds themselves feverishly trying to resist the growing urge to mount their seductive captors. But as passion prevails and unexpected bonds form, so much more is suddenly at stake. With no time left, will a shift in Kríe perspective be enough to change the fate of Alec’s team?

Warning: Contains mild dub/con elements, and explicitly scorching gay sex with exotic and shamelessly kinky males of otherworldly descent.

Alec roused to the crackle and popping of a fire… and the sound of more than one Gesh-like voice. Eyelids not quite ready to open, he shifted with a groan. Then froze. Somehow he was sitting upright but couldn’t move. Not much at least, thanks to something holding him secure by his throat and chest. Heart instantly back to hammering, he forced his eyes to open so he could get busy assessing what the fuck. Slowly, his blurry vision started to clear. It was nighttime and, oh God, he was tied to a tree.
Instinctively, he tugged at his snugly tied hands. But when his wrists and forearms grazed his crotch, he made another startling discovery. His dick was literally hard as rock, and his nut sac felt kind of swollen, too. What the fuck? Had he been having a wet dream while knocked out cold? Talk about messed up timing.
Warily, he lifted his eyes to his surroundings. A dozen yards away, poking at a campfire, Gesh sat talking to… another Kríe.

Alec sucked in a breath as his eyes focused more. Oh, hell. Make that three other Kríe. And all of them were ransacking the team’s rucksacks! Alec glowered, until five more Kríe strode into view.
Aw, fuck. Tied up and totally outnumbered.
Gesh spotted him watching and sauntered over. Grinning, the big fucker squatted down in front of him, his skin looking black in the firelight. “Alec,” he greeted, his rich timbre smug.
“Asshole,” Alec irritably returned.
Gesh canted his head, his expression amused, then reached out and ran a claw down Alec’s forearm. Not hard enough to draw blood, but enough to warrant Alec’s attention. Because that black fucker was sharp and could definitely do damage. Alec watched the thing until Gesh used it to lift Alec’s chin, forcing Alec’s gaze back to his. Alec studied his face, his features inexplicably attractive, that tiny dark gold hoop through his nasal septum only adding to his exotic appeal. And God, up close, his golden eyes were amazing. Even if Alec was pissed at the guy. They were stunning. Damn near hypnotizing. Especially with his black pupils all dilated like that.
Again, Gesh’s lips curved into a grin. “I was impatient for you to wake, Alec. Was impatient for us to talk.”
Alec blinked, then froze. Holy shit. Gesh spoke English. But wait. No way was that possible.
Gesh chuffed out a laugh, his grin expanding until thick fangs dropped into view. Wow, for such a bastard, the Kríe had a great smile. The way those full, dark lips made the white of his teeth pop…
Alec squeezed his eyes shut and tried to clear his head. God, not only was he hearing things, but wearing rose-colored glasses, too. Gesh did not have a great smile. Gesh was a backstabbing prick.

Totally not what I was expecting but soooo good! Kora Knight won me over with her Upending Tad series so when I saw she was the author of this book I got it without hesitation. I love her writing style and her books are always very well edited. I read this book in one sitting and can't wait for the next one to come out! Highly recommend this book to all m/m and/or paranormal book lovers!!!

Talk about purple prose 🙂 Good grief, this little gem was hot hot hot!! I usually don't go for sci fi fantasy, but this was a welcome exception. I'll definitely be getting the other volumes in the series.

I've read my share of alien romance but I've got to say that the Kríe are a race completely different from anything I've seen. The writer takes you to a beautiful planet full of exotic scenery and life forms, but the very best part is the multifaceted relationships she develops with her characters. I can't wait until the next book.

This is a wonderfully written story. Nothing goes according to plan and the characters ligitimitlly struggle because the author doesn't just hand them solutions on a silver platter. I love it and hope to read a lot more.

Let me first start by saying that I love everything by Kora Knight. Krie Captivity was no exception. It's very different from the Upending Tad series but still had her voice and style. The world building was great, I could visualize the planet and the characters, the characters are going to be fantastic to follow and I really hope we get to see all of them really fleshed out. I was on the fence about getting this because I loved "Tad" so much and re-read it a lot, and I didn't want my hopes dashed with something not up to par but I shouldn't have worried. Purple sensual beasts are apparently my new thing.

The story starts out with an edge-of-your-seat attack and crash on a planet we've lost explorers to before. Then the focus shifts to a year prior and a crew who are a combination of scientists, pilots, and military who are ready for adventure. When they are attacked by flying beasts and are forced into a hard landing, their world changes forever, in ways none of them would expect.

Knight takes time to describe each of the characters and as a reader you get the chance to know the men.You get a sense of their physical attributes, of course, but she also gives us insight into them as men. They each have distinct personalities which makes it easy to follow each one on his journey. This particular journey is interrupted by the Krie who, under the guise of being helpful, trap the human males in a twisted journey of sexual awareness.

The description of the Krie is beautiful. Knight paints a picture of large, virile, purple skinned creatures who have horns and piercings. They are fierce warriors and their world is made up entirely of males. I found this incredibly interesting. There were no females to be found. I was as confused as the research team when they discovered there were no females nearby. Their first concern was wondering how the species procreated. It didn't take long though for them to realize that the males were very sexual beings and the guys from the ship find themselves thrust into a surreal game. The game pushes them physically and mentally as they give up their control over their perceived sexuality. Along with this though is the mystery of the planet and the multiple species that inhabit it. Knight has created a world that sounds beautiful and isolating all at once.

I am a huge fan of this author. I am not always a huge fan of M/M books~ yes, I see the irony. My favorite part of Knight's books is that as a reader, I know the characters first. It isn't about the sex. It's about the characters and who they are as people. It's about developing the personalities and setting. Her writing is about telling a story first. The hot sex is a bonus. And the erotic scenes between the Krie and the humans are hot, hot, hot. This is a sensual assault to the characters' senses and while they are pushed outside their comfort zones, they are given the gift of self-awareness they didn't have before, though some of them may not be ready to deal with that awareness right away. The men are doing what they have to do to survive. Right?

The ending left me hanging and wanting to know what will happen next. I am dying to know so many things- Where do the men end up? Will they survive their captivity? What happens to the crew sent to find them a year later? Do the Krie who saved them first have real feelings for them or are they just bargaining tools for monetary gain? Where are the women? When will the next book be ready to read?

About the Author

Born and raised in the Northern Virginia, Kora Knight has always loved to read, but it wasn't until her preteen years that she discovered her deep-seated love for writing. With published literary teachers and play writers in the family DNA, it probably shouldn't have come as a big surprise.
Her road to "authorhood" started with her involvement in social book forums, then trying her hand in literary role-playing. That, in turn, led to becoming a fervent online independent writer, which ultimately sparked her desire to share with the larger world her impassioned stories of love, adventure, and sensual wonderment. Her most recent delight? Glorious erotic gay romance.
Having recently finished the second installment of her Nira Chronicles series, Zercy, she will be continuing on with a handful of other projects, including the next Upending Tad spin-off for Breck & Kai, on target to release end of summer 2018.
