The men of Kiss of Leather celebrate a beginning, but will the price be another ending?

The grand opening of Kiss of Leather draws near and the pressure is on to make sure everything is completed for the big night. Master Josh is a perfectionist, so no detail is too small in order to enhance the quality of the prestigious club they’ve all worked so tirelessly on. Unfortunately, the endless demands on Josh’s time have caused him to forget the more important things in life.

David’s love for Master Josh is strong, but lately, that love has been constantly tested. How can a sub in a full-time D/s relationship serve a Master who’s never there? As things continue to deteriorate between him and Josh, David wonders if maybe his Master has tired of having to care for a sub 24/7.

By the time the grand opening arrives, Josh and David seem to have worked out their differences and David is hopeful for their future. The emotional collaring ceremony between Gavin and Kyle is a beautiful testament to the power of love. But when an unexpected party crasher intrudes on the evening’s festivities, the men are reminded that there are still too many unanswered questions related to Corey’s kidnapping.

Excerpt:

As soon as Gavin and Derek left, Gavin inexplicably closing the office door behind him, Josh turned him in his embrace. He grabbed David by his nape then brought their lips together, taking David’s mouth over and over in a way he hadn’t in a very long time. Josh squeezed an ass cheek with his other hand then pulled him flush, David’s hardening dick pressing harshly against Josh’s. But it was so good, so right. David clutched his Master in a desperate hug, grinding on him, his relief almost as strong as his desire.

He does want me.

Josh continued to explore David’s mouth with his tongue, licking, tasting, nibbling as the kiss heated. Soon David rutted against Josh shamelessly, his lover encouraging him by grasping David’s ass with both hands while thrusting back. David’s cock throbbed within the confines of his jeans, even as happy tears welled up in his eyes. David tangled his fingers in Josh’s blond hair, clutching what he could of the short strands. Josh fed a low moan into David’s mouth before breaking the connection.

“Boy. David.” Josh framed David’s face between his palms. “I’m sorry. I know I haven’t been attentive to your needs for a while, haven’t taken care of you as your Master or your lover. I won’t make excuses, just… Please forgive me.”

David nodded, the tears spilling. “I do forgive you. But…” He’d never been very good at asking for what he wanted. It was one of the things Josh had continuously worked on with him.

“Tell me, boy. You get a say in our relationship as much as I do. And we don’t hide, remember?”

“Right. You’re right. I should’ve said something before, but I know how stressed out you’ve been.” David lowered his head. “I didn’t want to add to it.”

Josh pulled him into a hug. “You’re such a good boy and I’m such a rat of a Master.”

David snorted out a chuckle. “That’s an interesting way to put it.”

Josh chuckled in response. “Trying not to swear.”

David snuggled against Josh’s neck. “Trying not to encourage me, you mean.” David’s potty mouth when they’d first met had been legendary.

Josh whispered against his ear, his hot breath brushing over his sensitive skin, sending a shiver through his body. “For that, no. But I’d like to encourage you to forgive me enough that I can touch you, taste you. Suck and swallow your cock until you come down my throat.”

David’s hardened shaft leapt in his pants. It’d been so long. It wasn’t so much that it was since Josh had given him a blow job – he wasn’t one of those Masters who found it beneath them to suck their sub – but since they’d had any sexual contact at all.

“Y-yes. Definitely forgiven.”

Josh gave him another thorough kiss before pulling away. He locked his eyes on David’s. “Thank you. You’re the most important thing to me, understand? The club comes second from now on.”

David’s heart fluttered in his chest like a frightened animal’s. He’d been so worried that Josh would choose the club over him, that the overwhelming relief at Josh’s words made it hard to breathe.

“I should’ve come to you with my worry, Master. It’s my fault too.”

Josh captured David’s plump bottom lip with his teeth then scraped them across the sensitive flesh. “True. But in this case, it was my responsibility to make sure you were being cared for properly. I failed at that.”

He’d always known Josh to be a fair and honest Master. However he hadn’t expected him to be so willing to accept the full blame.

“I appreciate it, Master. But I still feel I played a part by not speaking up.”

Josh tilted his head then latched onto the crook of David’s neck, right where his T-shirt met his skin. He bit then sucked the skin. David gasped.

“Hmm. Perhaps you’ll need a punishment when we get home tonight.”

David swallowed down his disappointment. He realized he deserved it, but his punishments usually revolved around tasks he didn’t care for. Things such as polishing shoes, ironing the sheets - mindless, repetitive activities that forced him to muse on his wrongdoings. It wasn’t the close, and hopefully sexy, evening he’d hoped to share with Josh for the first time in ages.

“Yes, Master.” He hadn’t been able to keep the melancholy out of his voice.

Josh continued nibbling his neck, working his way up David’s throat until he shoved his tongue past the seam of David’s lips to sweep through his mouth again. He finished the kiss with a soft press to his lips then gazed at him with a wistful smile.

“Mmm. Yes. Punish my boy. It’s been a while since you’ve had a good spanking, hasn’t it?”

David sucked in a sharp breath. “It has been a while. Can we…?” Dammit. Don’t get greedy.

Josh tilted David’s head up with a couple fingers under his chin. “Can we what? Don’t censor yourself. Don’t hold back from me.”

“I know, Master. Sorry. I’ll take whatever punishment you give. But then can we do a scene? I don’t expect anything long, I know how tired you are. But… maybe a flogging… or something?”

The corners of Josh’s mouth quirked into a smile. “Should I warm your skin all over before I fuck you?”

After waiting so long to finally have his Master’s attention again, David could barely hold himself together. Thinking straight was difficult and he knew that it wouldn’t take much to make him lose control. He doubted it would take more than a few bobs of Josh’s head before he’d come apart.

David licked his lips. “I-I think that sounds like a really good idea.”

I couldn't wait to get my hands on 'Grand Opening', book four in Morticia Knight's 'Kiss of Leather' series. I have loved seeing each of the previous couples find their way and fall in love, but I've been very curious about Master Josh and David. They are already an established D/s couple who have been together for a while so I didn't get the opportunity to see them meet and fall in love. I can only imagine what the stress of opening Kiss of Leather is going to do to them and I can't wait to watch.

One of the things I get the most enjoyment from in each of the books is that the author always begins with what's going on in the lives of the couple who were the main characters in the most recent installment. That means I got a look at Stone (sinfully hot) and Marshall (my favorite bratty bottom) and could reassure myself that all was still going well in their world even as they continued to work through their issues.

A lone tear trailed down his cheek. It had nothing to do with being overwhelmed by his love for Josh. Instead, it was dangerously close to being from his fear that their love had already been lost.

Poor David and poor Josh. They've been together for five years but the last two years, and particularly the past six months, has seen Josh so focused on creating his BDSM dream club and the upcoming opening that he's forgotten what it means to have a boy. It takes Gavin reminding Josh of some very important things, but even then Josh figures it can wait until the club is open. Well, I certainly know that you can't put off forever what you need to do now. Certainly not in a loving, long-term relationship.

While Josh is dealing with his regret and disappointment in himself as a Master, and he and David are working on getting back to where they were before everything started sliding out from under them, Stone and Chuck, his associate, are still trying to identify the elusive Mike who was working with Tony in the selling of human slaves. Tony is currently in jail but they need to find all of the answers and get more proof in order to keep him there and get Mike arrested.

Oh boy. I really thought Josh was going to end up ruining everything between him and David. It was awful and I was on the edge of my seat anxiously hoping against hope that this could be fixed. Thank goodness for the Doms and subs of Kiss of Leather. They're a tight, loving family and if it wasn't for them, especially Gavin and Kyle, I think Josh could have lost David forever.

An exceptionally loving addition to the series that I greatly enjoyed. I know there'll be another book because the problem of Tony, Mike, and now a big-shot criminal defense attorney hasn't been solved yet. I loved seeing David and Josh work through their issues and reconfirm their love and commitment to each other. Sweet, sexy, hot, and very, very loving. A must-read!

I have been waiting for Josh and David to have a story since the beginning. You could tell there was more going on with them. I was not disappointed. We get to see everything come to a head and then see how happy they are at the end. I adore these two together and am so glad they get a happy ending. We also get to catch up with all of the other couples. It was nice getting to see the other guys one more time and know they’re still solidly in love and happy together.
David was a sweetheart. He made my heart hurt with how unsure he was through most of the story. He needed the guidance and grounding from his Dom and David floundered when Josh didn’t provide it. You could feel David’s desolation as you read. I liked how he stood up for himself towards the end of the story. How he let Josh know something needed to change or they wouldn’t make it. I knew he would be alright then.
Josh was so clueless. I was a little shocked at how deep it went. But when he asked Gavin for help it was easy to realized that Josh truly didn’t know what he was doing wrong. I liked how Josh was committed to doing whatever it took to keep David. When he was finally confronted with how deeply hurt David truly was that lightbulb went off and you could see Josh’s desperation.
I liked how we saw the issues between Josh and David. It was on page and you can feel the emotions between them and how thin they got stretched. We also get to see the breakdown on page as well. The scene where David lets Josh know how serious he is that things need to change is so emotion filled. The ending was quick though. We don’t get to see any of how David gets to where he’s ready to go back with Josh. Plus we only see one short scene where Josh handles his issue. It felt a little forced and needed to be fleshed out a bit more. I would have liked to see that conclusion come together more so I could feel it.
The storyline with Mike and Tony still feels open. There’s some things that still need resolved and they are definitely headed there. I liked the progress made in this story though. I was fascinated with the scenes revolving around that plot line. My favorite though was in the lawyers office. Oh man you can tell more’s going on there! I can’t wait to find out what happens next.
I’m truly hoping there’s at least one more book in this series and its Chuck’s book. I love that we got to see Kiss of leather open in this book and all of the owners have their happily ever after. I love these guys and want more of them. However if there’s not another book in the series, this is a good ending for the guys because we get to see them all get happily ever afters.

What I like about this series is that, even though a new couple is featured in each book, the couples from the previous books are featured heavily throughout, so readers can keep up with them. This book featured Josh and David, who are already in an established relationship prior to the series opening; so, rather than focusing on them getting together, this book is about them maintaining their relationship, which is a bit on the rocks.

My heart broke for David, because he felt so neglected throughout the story. Between Josh not coming home, and all but ignoring him, and Marshall being back in the picture, and Corey needing so much attention, he questioned his place in Josh’s life. I wanted to scoop him up and hug him.

Aside from David and Josh, though, since this was the grand opening of the club, pretty much everyone had a bit of time on the page. I especially liked reading about Chuck, whose story I cannot wait to read. Like Kyle, he seems hesitant to enter the BDSM world.

David and Josh have a lot to work through, but the story is well done. My only gripe is that it ended when it did! I wasn’t ready to leave Josh and David, and yet, the story ended and I hate no choice. The only thing I know is that they will be in the next book, and if Morticia Knight sticks to her well-crafted formula, they will be opening the book. So, while I might not have gotten what I wanted then, I can most certainly expect to see it soon!

Fans of Morticia Knight and the Kiss of Leather series will enjoy this book. Everything the boys have been working towards comes to a head in this one, although there is still a lot of mystery coming in future books! If you’re new to the series, I recommend going back and reading the first book, as the stories start to build on each other from two on. You won’t regret it!

Grand Opening is book 4 in Morticia Knight’s Kiss of Leather series. I will say this series is likely my favorite BDSM series. Each book follows another couple but they are all entwined.

In Grand Opening we are focusing on Josh and David but it is multiple POV’s so we see Marshall and Stone again. Also get Gavin’s POV, David’s, and Josh’s. It’s not head hoppy if you are thinking that. It all blends really well together.

Each book has emotion to it. This one felt thicker in that department. David and Josh are an established D/s couple that live the lifestyle 24/7. Now David feels…is…. neglected by his Master and their relationship crumbles. The power of their relationship is described so well that you find yourself crying with them, feeling with them, wanting so much to see it work. When David feels the all-encompassing end that pushes him to do something he never has in this relationship, it feels like the air leaves your lungs.

I don’t belittle non BDSM relationships but the intensity of David and Josh’s is something not all couples, many, ever have. Their loss is incredible. It takes so much to get it back on track.
On top of that there’s still the hunt for Mike going on so the suspense and mystery is in full swing. Add the characters, and the future possibilities of books to come and yeah… incredible.

Morticia balances it all incredibly. I was never confused and completely invested. She follows the BDSM rules to a T and the amount of respect she gives it is awe-inspiring.

Josh and David’s story is heart breaking and heartwarming. It shows another side of the lifestyle I haven’t seen that often in the BDSM stories I’ve read and I loved that.
This is a must read series!
