Kiss of Leather Book 7
As the men at Kiss of Leather celebrate the resolution of the case of Corey’s kidnappers, Master Hunter worries that he’ll never see Tobey again.
Chuck isn’t about to let one of the key figures behind Corey’s kidnapping get away from him again. Everything he and Stone have discovered through their months-long investigation is about to come together. However, when Chuck follows the suspect to a shipyard, it’s not only his own life that’s in danger.
Master Hunter is officially part-owner of Kiss of Leather, so he’s thrilled to raise a toast in celebration now that the mystery of Corey’s kidnapping has been solved. However, he can’t help but feel left out. Everyone is paired up except for him. He’s never believed in monogamy before, but after Tobey unexpectedly left Kiss of Leather and no one knows where he’s gone, did Hunter make a horrible mistake by not sharing his true feelings?
Tobey has been miserable ever since leaving West Hollywood and going back to Idaho. After breaking his own promise to himself by falling in love with his trainer, Tobey impulsively left Kiss of Leather because of something awful Master Hunter said. But things at home are worse than ever and he’s come to realize that those who are related to him by blood aren’t necessarily his true family. The only place he’s ever felt he truly belonged was at Kiss of Leather.
Tobey has to face Hunter if he goes back to Kiss of Leather and Hunter has to figure out what he really wants from life and love. It takes a charity slave auction to show them what they’ve both been too stubborn to see.

Tobey was back to wondering if he’d really raise all that much for the charity. If I can at least make the minimum bid, it won’t be too humiliating. Although, since the minimum was a thousand dollars, there was still plenty of opportunity for him to tank.
A slight squeal from the mic proceeded Josh’s announcement right as the club lights dimmed. “All right, slaves. I need everyone in your cages. We’re about to open the door in a few minutes. Once you’re inside, our slavemaster, Kyrill will lock you in. If you aren’t already wearing a collar as part of your outfit, Kyrill will place one of the club collars around your neck before he leads you to the stage. Thank you again for your generous participation, and I’m stunned by how great all of you look tonight.” Josh grinned. “Let the games begin!”READ MORE
Everyone clapped and cheered. Tobey clapped along but with less enthusiasm. The reality of what he was about to do suddenly hit him. What was I thinking? He’d have to parade around on stage in the outrageous outfit with men ogling and cheering or who-knew-what. He didn’t have a problem with demos or public nudity, but vamping it up was different.
And Hunter will be watching.
His attitude about his situation hadn’t changed, but he hadn’t thought through the reality of Hunter seeing him for the first time after he’d returned, or while he was prancing around on stage.
The padlock clicked shut with a clang against the bars and Tobey jumped. He gazed up at Kyrill who was smiling down at him. The Master was an unusually tall man, almost lanky, with long, white-blond hair and startlingly pale-skin. To Tobey, he reminded him of a vampire. But other than that, Kyrill was stunning with almost ice blue eyes and chiseled features.
“Don’t be nervous. You’ll do great.”
Tobey nodded shakily. “Thank you, sir.”
Kyrill continued down the line locking up the slaves and Tobey lowered his head. It’s go time. The doors to the club would be opened at any minute and the bidders would start perusing the offerings. And I’m one of them.
Sure, he’d been anxious to make up for being so irresponsible, and yeah it was a great charity, but maybe, just maybe he’d been wanting to show off to Hunter? He couldn’t deny that there’d been a thread of that reasoning that had snuck in and had swayed him to agree to the auction. Well, if that’s so, then I guess I deserve to be embarrassed right now.
Tobey glanced at Tai who was blowing kisses and waving at a few of the men who were beginning to pour into the club. One of them broke from a group he’d obviously arrived with and strolled over to Tai. The background noise in the club had begun to build, and Tobey couldn’t hear what they were saying other than some random words here and there. Tai laughed with the man then showed off his outfit with the grace of a supermodel preening on the catwalk.
Tobey froze. Tai was indicating to him and the man peered over at Tobey. He nodded in response to something Tai had said then winked at Tobey. Oh Jesus. Mistake. Huge mistake. He’d just been sky-rocketed out of his comfort zone and it had zero to do with Hunter.
He turned back to Tai and seemed to be making his goodbyes. Phew. Tobey gasped as the man sauntered over in his direction.
“Hello, boy. I’m Master Lucas.” His smile could only be described as hungry.
“Hello, M-master Lucas. My name is Tobey.” That was eloquent.
Master Lucas picked up his limits list, arching his eyebrows and nodding as he read it over. He peered up at Tobey with another predatory smile. “Intriguing.” He dropped the sheet then moved in closer until he was leaning against the bars. “I’m a newer member of Kiss of Leather, but I haven’t seen you before. Are you one of the subs here? Or just here for the auction?”
“Oh, uh, I was working here as a host and house demo sub, but I left for a couple of months. I just came back last week.”
“I see. And are you back working here again too?”
“Tell me, Tobey. It says on here that you might be interested in more. Does that mean you’d be open to discussing a permanent contract if I were to be, as you put it, the right Master?”
I think I’m going to faint. I didn’t know I was capable of such a thing. “It’s possible.” He swallowed hard.
“Coy. Very cute.” Master Lucas’ eyes danced. “Our interests are well-matched and I’ve been searching for a permanent boy for a while. I don’t do TPE, only scenes and I’m in control in the bedroom at all times. You don’t mention that on your list.”
Oh yeah. That would’ve been helpful. He’d struggled with what to write as it was and Elliot had needed to help him. “I don’t want TPE either, sir. And I’m happy to give up control, in the uh, bedroom.” His face flushed hot.
Master Lucas bit his bottom lip. “Oh my. I think I know exactly who I’m bidding on tonight.”
Tobey cleared his throat, at a loss as to how to respond. Master Lucas was attractive, older in the way he preferred, and it sounded as though they might work well together as Master and sub. Then why do I hope he doesn’t bid on me after all?COLLAPSE

It takes something pretty special to keep my attention through seven books in a series, and Morticia Knight has more than accomplished that with her ‘Kiss of Leather’ novels. I have fallen for many men in these books and suffered with them through their pain. At the end of the previous installment, I was horrified to see Chuck take off, alone, and follow Warren in hopes of finally catching one of the men behind the slavery ring, and possibly busting everything wide open. Needless to say, as usual, the author began this book right back there with Neal and Liam, Liam being abducted by Warren, and Chuck tailing the van. Definitely started off with a bang!
I loved it that the whole situation that has been following these men, i.e. the slave trade, got resolved fairly quickly, quietly, and none of my men got hurt. It also allowed me to focus on Tobey and Hunter. Tobey ran back home to Idaho after something Hunter said, but home is still as horrible as it was when he came out to them, although this time, at least, his dad didn't beat him half to death. It doesn't take Tobey long to realize his family and his true home are in LA and at Kiss of Leather. Now, if he can just try to work with Hunter and have as few interactions as possible, all will be well.
“The truth of what Tobey’s loss meant to him had been an agony ever since he’d disappeared. Hunter hadn’t slept well, had done all that he could to keep himself from facing the reality of how badly he’d fucked up.”
Master Hunter is really bad at communication. Really, really, really bad at it. He despises having to express his feelings because he knows he's going to screw it up somehow. So, it was a delight to watch him actually talk to, and take advice from, his friends and other partners in the club. It was interesting to watch a Dom be so worried about approaching a sub and apologizing. It definitely endeared him to me and since I already liked Tobey, I was rooting for them to work this out.
An awesome addition to the series! I'm not sure if the author is done with this series or not, but if not, I'll gladly look forward to more stories.

This book starts with a bang, let me tell you. By now fans of this series know that each new book starts with a quick catch up with the couple from the previous book. Let's just say that Facing Fears brings everything with Corey's past and that circle of sadistic craziness to a close. Finally, retribution, and leave it to Knight to throw another curve ball in there for her readers.
Moving right along. Tobey left KOL when a comment from the one man he could see being his Master, his forever love, is taken out of context. Or should I say, Hunter misspoke and didn't take the time to make himself clear, so Tobey ran simply out of self preservation. Fate has an uncanny knack of getting her way though, so Tobey comes home, back to KOL with one request. He doesn't want to have to deal with Hunter. The Master is going to have to be the one to bend and acclimate if he stands a chance of winning Tobey's forgiveness, his trust, but most importantly... his heart.
I think one of my favorite aspects of this series is how every Dom and every Sub are different. Seven books in and every storyline changes to fit that particular couple. Also, the Author does a phenomenal job of really explaining the lifestyle which includes unique descriptives for each character and what makes them tick. While I have thoroughly enjoyed each book in this series, Corey and Derek were my favorite coupling, until now. I absolutely loved the way Knight wrote the auction and slipping back and forth between Tobey and Hunter's POV. The way Hunter had to give up complete control in order to win his boy back. These chapters were intense as Tobey has a very visceral reaction to what's happening at that point in time. Hunter has to make it right no matter the cost, and damn the consequences.
Even if you are not a fan of BDSM type stories, you will likely enjoy this series. While there are descriptive scenes and scenarios within the lifestyle they are never gratuitous, painful to the point of cringing, non or dubious consent. There is always love, admiration and trust and I think that is what sets this particular series apart from any other in the BDSM sub-genre. You MUST start with book 1 though, can't jump in there without starting at the beginning.
With Facing Fears I felt like we got two different stories for the price of one. The beginning has us spending a little bit of time with Liam and Neal and also following Chuck as he pursues the white van he was following at the end of the previous book. The story took a turn I wasn't expecting and we get some nerve wracking action.
The story then moves on to Toby and Hunter. Toby is broke and wanting to return to LA and Kiss of Leather, having left his job the month before after having his heart broken by Master Hunter. I have to say I loved Toby instantly but it look me a long time to warm up to Master Hunter. Ultimately I just wanted Toby to get what he wanted and by the end I was a happy reader.
I'm loving every book this is series, it is my guilty pleasure.
