Beau has simple rules when it comes to dating. For one, he’ll never date a student’s father. Until he unintentionally does. Things get worse when the one-night stand blossoms full force into a love that rocks the small town of Lacovia to the core.
Will you come home with me and let me help you discover yourself?
At thirty-eight, Gordon’s never been with another man, but it’s always been a longing. One night with Beau is all it takes to prove it to him. But
he doesn’t want just any man. He wants the sexy French man who's about to turn his life into a scandal.
When a video of the two men kissing goes viral, Gordon is reminded why he’s never explored his interest in the same sex. With all hell breaking loose in Lacovia, will Gordon relinquish his happiness for the comfort of others, or will his love for Beau be the catalyst the town so badly needs?
Welcome to Lacovia, Louisiana, governed by old-fashioned principles, challenged by new ideas, a town where kids fight for the rights of their parents or their beloved teacher. A place where hope grows regardless of the challenges.
Possible triggers include police brutality, physical and sexual abuse.

Thank god this story has a HEA because it goes through some really rough patches. And there are twists you don't see coming. It was a rough start for me. While I liked Gordon and Beau, the story was pretty standard until I got about half way through and then...I couldn't put it down. I stayed up way after bedtime just to finish it and I was not disappointed. Once I finished, I promptly bought the next two in the series because I had to see how this family progressed. Do yourself a favor, set aside the time, take your blood pressure meds (I got angry at several points, not at the characters but for them) and you will be rewarded with an awesome story. I can't wait to start the next book!
