Summary: In a future where humanity has spread out among the stars, those few possessing psychic abilities are looked upon with suspicion at best and murderous intent at worst. On Aurora, one of the more tolerant worlds of the Federation, Pat Cottrell works for Federation Security as a psi hunter, tracking down and neutralizing dangerous psi criminals. Kyn Valdari works for the Institute for Psionic Research, running search and rescue operations, in which psions in distress are offered the chance to learn how to control psychic abilities that can threaten sanity and ruin lives. Kyn and Pat used to be best friends, closer than brothers. Three years ago, one passionate night that never should have happened left both of them shocked, confused, and desperately wanting more. They haven’t spoken since. Now, the silence between them must be broken. Kyn and Pat have been ordered to investigate a string of murders that may have been committed by a psion powerful enough to kill with a thought. Summary: Hank Schatz~ One of my toughest decisions was to join the Army after graduating high school. My second toughest was to decide it was time to get out. I wanted more than that life had to offer—namely the return of my humanity and a life beyond the pain that had leached into my soul during my deployments. Without a hint at what to do next, I said goodbye to my Army life and headed home to Missouri. There were things I’d been hiding from my family for too many years—a secret that had nothing to do with my career as an Army Ranger. It was time I began to live my truth, but how to start, I didn’t know. I was aware of one thing for sure—I didn’t want to be lonely anymore. ## Reed Bayless~ I had a job I loved as a Special Education teacher at Carver Middle School in central Missouri. The kids were amazing, and their parents were supportive, unlike my last school where the parents believed their expensive tuition relieved them of their obligations to actually participate in their children’s education. Sadly, I was still alone, and I was getting a little long in the tooth to play the one-night game. Unexpectedly, my diamond brought her brother to the Christmas Eve service at the local Lutheran church, and I found myself off-balance by the gorgeous man. I felt there was a sadness about him that made me want to hold him in my arms until his hurts healed. Of course, he was an Army Ranger, the toughest of the tough and the straightest of the straight. Between Ranger Hank, and his dog, Cosmo, I wanted things I couldn’t imagine were possible. Or were they?  This work of fiction is approximately 142,000 words in length and doesn’t end in a cliffhanger. It is the first book in the series entitled, “The Lonely Heroes Series.”

Cooper Scott is a snarky twink with no filter. He has big plans for a successful future and falling for his dad’s best friend is NOT on the agenda. No worries, they’ll just keep it casual. Or can love overcome all and give them a happily ever after? **Adore is a steamy, age-gap, bi-awakening, dad’s best friend M/M romance with a sassy smartass and a sexy silver fox. It’s the first book in the Remington Place series and can be read as a stand-alone.** CRAVE When two friends agree to be fake boyfriends and add in casual sex, what could go wrong? Raiden Ono is a nerdy gamer with a painful past and a solid plan for his future. He just needs a break so he can get back on his feet. Spencer Nelson sees himself as a failure and not worthy of anything remotely resembling good. But then Rai pops into his life and makes him question everything. So, of course, he finds himself falling down the “more” rabbit hole with a guy fifteen-years his junior. Logan Miles escaped a horrific past, but he’s yet to find his safe place. When he ends up in a dangerous situation, he can’t help but see Cruz as his knight in shining armor. But is Logan ready for what Cruz has to offer? Will Cruz be able to give Logan what he needs while they navigate their new relationship? Or will they lose the chance at happiness before it even begins? **Desire is a steamy, age-gap, hurt/comfort M/M romance featuring a heart-of-gold mechanic and a twink who’s a lot stronger than he realizes. It’s the third book in the Remington Place series and can be read as a stand-alone, but is likely best enjoyed when read in order. Please note: This story has mention of sex trafficking and sexual abuse.** YEARN They’ve hated each other for years, but someone forgot to tell them there’s a fine line between love and hate. Khi Harris has spent his life trying to prove himself. After a disastrous relationship, all he needs is a little time to regain his footing. He has no desire to spend that time with an old enemy. Dre King has finally accepted his truth. A new home with family and friends is exactly what he needs as he begins a journey toward his dream. Khi waltzing back into Dre’s life is not part of the plan. The only thing Khi and Dre can agree on is they most definitely don’t want to be thrown together, but that’s precisely what they get. The line between hate and love is easily blurred, but these two men are determined to fight each other tooth and nail.* *Yearn is a steamy, enemies-to-lovers, forced proximity M/M romance between two EMS workers who have hated each other for a decade.**

Preface

I love short stories. Sometimes a brief “snapshot” taken from a couple’s larger story is all that’s wanted. The narrative of “how they met” is the focus of six of the shorts in this set—quirky tales ranging from meeting at a charity fundraiser, to college kids pranking each other, to a mishap at a XXX adult video arcade.

Also included is a story featuring a well-established couple’s wedding dilemma, a friends-to-lovers tale, a coming-out-of-the-closet drama, and a continuation short that follows one of those how-we-mets. Rounding out this collection is an account revisiting the main characters from my full-length novel, ’Til Death Do Us Part.

All of these stories are contemporary, although one has a bit of paranormal flavor to it. Heat ratings range from “fairly sweet” to “rather steamy.” Excepting the final story, all were originally written in 2008 and early 2009. One (“Photo Shoot”) started out as a prompt word ficlet that I later fleshed out to a more complete story. Each has received a thorough overhaul, some more extensive than others. I hope you’ll enjoy reading them as much as I did writing them.
