About The Book

Outcast operative in the Supernatural Investigation & Crime Bureau (SICB) Callen Blackheath finds himself doing what he does best: defying orders and giving his boss a headache in the thick of an operation he shouldn’t be in. And there’s no way he’s walking away, not when the investigation has become deadly personal.

Needing to protect the only family member he has left, this wolf shifter will do whatever it takes to stop the blood farms and destroy the dangerous drugs the vampires will kill for. But he doesn’t expect Liam “Thatch” Thatcher, the head of a special task force team, to receive a bite that pulls him into the centre of Callen’s world.

Bonded by memories and blood, together they navigate the operation that has wider reaches than they could ever imagine. And when it comes to matters of the heart, Callen knows in order to win, he needs to risk it all.

The Review

Dangerous new superdrugs for vampires that require shifter blood to manufacture threaten the vamp/shifter/human balance in this fast-paced, action-packed story that will appeal to those who enjoy romances that aren’t cookie cutter affairs.

When Supernatural Investigation & Crime Bureau (SICB) operative and werewolf Callen Blackheath learns that his sister has been killed and his niece missing, he’s eager to be put on a team to catch her killer.

He’s even more ready to be included when he finds out Liam “Thatch” Thatcher who’s appointed as team leader has been bitten accidentally by his sister and needs someone to guide him through the upcoming change.

The memories that Thatch receives about Callen and his family add a unique twist to this investigation/romance mix. Neither man is excited about the memories Thatch acquires whether he wants them or not.

It’s intriguing to watch this interplay between Thatch and Callen develop while the men must become partners to find out how the superdrugs work, where they are produced, and how to stop the highly addictive spray that sends vamps on killing rampages.

At times scary and thought-provoking, this sexy, fast-paced story redefines vamp, shifter, and human relations when drug designers, cartels, pushers, and street dealers don’t care who they exploit and greed rules the day. Keeping a tenuous status quo when it looks like all hell’s breaking loose becomes more than a hypothetical as this interesting and gripping tale points out.

I asked for this book to review because I like Seymour’s writing style, not because of its fantasy and action components. I’d recommend it not only to those who like the pace of their fantasy novels at Mission Impossible speed but even to those who like more sedate vampire novels. The unique twists of the superdrugs to a vampire tale and Thatch and Callen’s relationship will have fantasy fans asking for more.
