About The Book

Lord Morgorth is a dark mage on the planet Karishian. He’s considered a villain by his peers and relishes the title, having embraced the role earlier in his life. However, not all of his actions are necessarily villainous.

Despite owning several of the Stones of Power—gemstones infused with powerful magick—he doesn’t use them, preferring to keep them hidden away and out of destructive, power-hungry hands. He hates them more than anything. So when a sorcerer gets a hold of a major stone, Morgorth has no choice but to go after him. But, to his irritation, he is not alone. Aishe is a dialen whose tribe was massacred by the sorcerer, and is now on a mission of vengeance. The attraction is instant between them, but Morgorth keeps his distance. Because of a traumatic childhood and a deadly destiny, he has no desire for emotional complications. But Aishe’s very presence challenges Morgorth’s resolve.

Not only does Morgorth admire Aishe’s strength and intelligence, but he begins to see Aishe as a friend. As their hunt continues and their time together lengthens, their bond deepens, as does Morgorth’s fear. If he becomes the monster that destiny claims he will be, will he hurt Aishe? Will he harm the one person who sees right through him? Who accepts him wholeheartedly? Determined to not let that happen, Morgorth keeps Aishe at a distance. But when Aishe is kidnapped by the sorcerer, what will Morgorth do to get him back?

The Review

I have a confession to make, when I started this book I was convinced I wouldn’t like it Fantasy/Sci-Fi not my favorite genres and I was right I didn’t like it, I loved it. I definitely should not have assumed and I am sure most of you know what happens when you do.

Lord Morgoth is a mage and lives on his home planet of Karishian but every so often when he gets bored he travels through a portal to visit Earth. Now he has returned and having spent a few months on Earth he discovers that two years have passed in Karishian time. As a mage he has made his castle and the property surrounding it impassable to others, and if one chooses to try to visit his home they usually don’t survive the experience.

Since he was a child Morgoth was given the title of Villian and it was a title he embraced. As the seventh son of a seventh son he knows that he is a danger and has managed to live his life alone until he meets Aishe. Aishe was banished by his family for not adhering to their wishes and during the time of his banishment a sorcerer killed every member of his family and tribe. Now it is up to him to get revenge and kill the sorcerer responsible but he needs Morgoth’s help.

Aishe’s tribe was in possesion of one of the Stones of Power, powerful stones that give the possessor total power, power that is deadly. Morgoth is in possession of some of the stones and has tried unsuccessfully to destroy them so he keeps them locked away and fights their constant enticement, promises of power, ruling the entire world all of which Morgoth ignores. In spite of his dislike of working with someone else he does join Aishe in his quest to find and kill the sorcerer and gain possession of the stone so Morgoth can lock it away with the others.

Morgoth knows that his magic is powerful and he knows how to use it unlike the sorcerer who is just using whatever power the stone gives him. Together Morgoth and Aishe search, a search that at times becomes very dangerous and deadly.  Aishe makes no pretense about his feelings for Morgoth and although Morgoth begins to have feelings for Aishe he knows he is not safe to be around and knows that being with someone would just make him vulnerable and weak.

Aishe is a beautiful man and Morgoth is the total opposite, skinny, a nose he feels makes him resemble a bird and yet Aishe is determined to prove to him that “love is in the eye of the beholder”. Sex, betrayal, secrets and two amazing main characters make this book a must read and makes me anxious to start book two.
